Be careful!  This is another plane with a different designator than what you see in the hangar.  In the hangar it is the plain old I-302.  In the premium shop it becomes the I-302P.  Aggravating when you fall for it thinking it is a different plane.  One of the 190's is like that, also.

well the tier 7 302 is awsome but if you fly alone you need a good team in your side  for that reason is better  to play in pairs because you need to fly at hight altitude because in mid or lower altitude other figthers more  agile like the  spit can chase you , but if you fly at hight altitude you win almost all the  times no matter the spits or others planes because this plane can go really hight with it rockets boosters

and you wingan can do others task of the game to win

Damn thing is annoying in its ability to go from really slow to stupidly fast at the drop of a hat.
A Cruise Build on an Arrow could keep up with 'most' of those shenanigans. Which should tell you something right there.
But the lack of a turn build which let me do the former prevented me from sealing the deal in the resulting turn fight.
Catch them unaware (either sneaking up on them in something turny and 'fast' or out sniping them) while they are targeting something else
and you stand a good chance to kill'em.
If you dont finish the job and they have an option to GTFO, then they will.
And then you have to worry about them coming back around and hitting you harder than a truck while you are distracted in turn. :sceptic:

Fair warning. My success rate at speculative guesswork is very hit or miss. Usually I start on the right track and then a make a weird left turn and get lost in the weeds ...
And yet it doesn't stop me from speculation.

Yes ... but not really. There is an order of magnitude separating them.

if you took Dora the Exploder and only mounted 4x 20 mm cannons to match the 302 ...
Then the Kostikov 302 is still better at every thing.  except  Firepower and Roll rate.

The 302 can:

  • stall 20 kph slower.
  • Cruise 100 kph faster
  • Dive 20kph faster

Additionally; Dora's 102.1 m/sec climb rate to a combat ceiling of 1600 m,
is blown away by the 164.2 m/sec climb rate to a combat ceiling of 2200 m found in the Kostikov

302's Turn rate is better but not by much. Only 2/10 of a second.
the 302 has an optimal turn speed of 563 kph. 114 kph higher than Dora's 449.
Dora finally gets a decisive edge here with its roll rate 160 compared to the 100 on the 302.

That edge continues in Firepower.
the 302's 4x 20mm SHVAK are surpassed in range and damage
by the 4x MG 151/20 cannons mounted in this stripped down version of a Dora.
