Sometimes the plane you are in is not useful at the moment.
Sometimes you get an option to switch your plane for something else more useful.
"I ve been in a fighter all match and all of a sudden i realize there is a cap i need to flip ASAP on the other side of the map.
I ditched my Zero and I hopped into my P-38 Lightning. Victory was snatched from the jaws of defeat."
Or
So there i was in my slow [edited] StuKa and i got paired with a bomber flight that knew what they were doin.
Every cap i went to got flipped before i could get halfway there.
so i pancaked and switched to my Spitfire to hold the cap closest to the enemy spawn.
Spent the rest of the match chewing on their respawns. "
In moments like that the eventual cost to my account is not foremost on my mind.
Now here is a question for you to think about.
Suppose there is an event going on.
And that event requires that you pick a class of plane, and win. Do it 5 times. get a prize.
You know the drill.
So with that in mind if you smell a win coming on,
(and you can switch to a different class of plane because that airfield that lets you do so was capped by your team).
Would you switch out? Do you get credit for win in both classes if you do?
These are the things i ponder at 3 am.

Fair warning. My success rate at speculative guesswork is much like my WinRate. Hit or Miss.
Usually I start on the right track and then a make a weird left turn and get lost in the weeds ...
And yet it doesn't stop me from speculation.
