I have not flown in some time, I do not like War Thunder and sadly the game is now a copy paste of that game. However, I found a great attacker.

if the pilot's good, see, I mean, if he's really..sharp, he can barrel that baby in so low [he spreads his arms like wings and laughs],

you oughtta see it sometime, it's a sight. A big plane like a '52. VRROOM! There's jet exhaust, fryin' chickens in the barnyard.

Can you imagine the Germans, oh a spotter plane we should get into cover before the artillery and strike. WTH is he doing? Woosh, Woosh, Woosh, he is shooting at us!!!

I remember that but not who.

Is anyone actually still playing? Completing missions seems nearly impossible because even in the tier 5 - 7 range which seems to have the most players are you able to work the missions and outside of that forget about it.

The American army of WWII was outright scary in its ability to improvise.

I have flown in a few and it's still considered one of the best bush planes in the world and you see a lot of them in the far north. Land and take off anywhere.

You would be amazed at where some bush pilots land and take off.

Another old girl you see a lot of in Nunavut are single and twin otters. You get to the hangar early so you can help the pilot put some seats in. This was at meadowbank when I was still building the airstrip. The buggers would sometime land on the approach before the barrels marking the start of the strip or on the access road closer to the camp kitchen. They would sometimes get out and pace off how many steps they landed in.

Their mostly in the far north because they knew how to build stuff to take it back then.Buffalo joe still has old dc3's in his fleet hauling fuel to the exploration camps and passengers to remote villages.I remember they filmed a season of arctic ice pilots at our camp north east of yellowknife and leaky old girls but I still loved watching them come in and take off.We had anything that could fly hauling fuel when the ice strip was built, even buffs and hercs, constant otters, dashes and one year we rented 2 of those russian monster supertankers to haul fuel as there is or was only 2 commercial hercs in all of Nunavut. Bloody buffs could land in a zero visibility ground blizzard.

Lots of these little piper cubs though and getting in one and watching the pilot priming and trying to fire one in sub zero temps was a scary experience and some of the otters were like right out of the 60's and some of the guys who owned them never changed anything unless needed. You get in,look around and say is this thing gonna make it? lol!

My mom got her wings in a piper and bought her own piper Cherokee after that and we flew all over western Canada. As navigator and co-pilot I had to learn to work a hand held E6-B9 computer and sometimes we would fly all night instruments only which she could do as she was an instructor after a few years and her boyfriend was also a bush pilot and trainer..So there is a special place in my heart for these living legends as my life depended on them.

This was my last flight out of the arctic from goose lake and this was the fully loaded twin otter that was our ride.

I knew it was loaded because before you get in you have to help unload cargo into nets for the helicopter to sling back to camp and that was everyone, even the geologists, drillers and surveyors.

What an idea for an interesting game mechanic!  A Genuine Support Class

Fly a low and slow recon plane like an O-1 or O-2 with manuverability that is brokenly unfair and so stealthy even AAA guns have a hard time tracking it.
or a Bomber/Heavy fitted for Recon that gains redonkulous Altitude and Airspeed.

with lots of little ordinance (WP Rockets or smoke Bombs) that do minor damage (maybe sets a fire in a section) to a section of a ground target.

But it Marks the entire ground target.

Ground targets that are thus marked (look for the colored smoke!) can be worth many extra capture points when destroyed.

Options for high flyers may include a kind of photo reconnaissance
(PhotoBombing if you will) that can increase the duration of a lock timer on a successfully captured zone if well timed.
Or reduce (or delay) the power of a special effect from things like rocket attacks, Bomber flights,  aircraft repairs, etc that belong to the enemy.

What do you think?

eh?

eh?

No?

Ok then. I'll see myself out.

Fair warning. My success rate at speculative guesswork is much like my WinRate. Hit or Miss.
Usually I start on the right track and then a make a weird left turn and get lost in the weeds ...
And yet it doesn't stop me from speculation.

Specialist Planes I have from : Japan, USA, UK, Germany, USSR, Europe
Light Fighters:   XP-31, Model 81A-1, P-40, P-51A, P-39N-1, XF15C, DH.100 F1, Fw 56, He 112, Bf 109 B / E / E-3, Me209v4, Me209 A, I-17
Multi-Roles: Type 91, F11C-2, F4F, P-47B, Fw 190 A-1 / A-5 / D, I- 5 / 15 / 16(e)(l)

Heavy Fighters: P-38 F/J,  XP-58, Beaufighter,  Bf 110 C-6, Me 410, Do 335 A-1, Me 262, Tu-1, SE 100,

Attack Aircraft: Hs 123, Ha 137, Hs 129 A, Ju 87 G, Me 265, Me 1099 B-2
Bombers: Do 17 Z, He 111 H2, Pe-2, Do 217 M

*blink*

I like this.

I also like the concept of planes that "heal" other planes or offer aggro redirection...

<-- is an MMO player who also likes plane games so uh...
