Correct. So long as you're in the spawn queue before squall hits you will respawn even if that's after squall because of waiting.

Dying before squall on purpose is sound advice if you're not still at or near full health. Bombers and GAA can often benefit from this because frequently you'll live at the least til squall.

Word of advice before you nose it in? Make sure you're not over a node. No need to give up any capture points defensive or offensive.

DO NOT defend the one sad lonely node you own when you are behind and the other team owns the rest of the nodes. Go on the offensive, otherwise you'll lose. Might make a nice and pretty personal score but your teammates will very swiftly be annoyed.

Everyone knows that Being on fire makes you easier to spot. (Well, duh!)

But did you knooooowwww?

... That Firing your Forward Guns increases the distance that you can be spotted by 10%
...  That Using your Boost also increases the distance that you can be spotted by 10%

... both of these effects stack?

No, actually I did not. Seriously?? That explains much!

Thanks for reminding people about STEALTH.

Going dead silent and flying low in the game use to work great before they added bots.

Use to be a great tactic to secure the win.

Since BOTWARS started I do not think it works as well anymore.

This paragraph, way down the page in the 2.0 link provided by GonerNL, seems to say forward-shooting, boost and fire increase detected radius.

https://blog.worldofwarplanes.com/mechanics/visibilty-system-20/

"On the other hand, an aircraft’s visibility is affected by its loadout — a masking camouflage provides -10% to the visibility sphere radius and status effects. There are three of those: aircraft on fire, boost active, and forward-facing armament shooting. Each adds 10% to the radius."

Seasonal Camo gives 20%, dunno if that existed when this was written. I'm fascinated, I didn't apparently read far enough down to get to that part. Still and all, this is solid information that as far as I know is not actually discussed -anywhere- else.

Which seems the height of disorganization to just have it on the devblog :P
