Why give a pilot for a specific plane as a singular prize when you don't own said plane?

See title.  Just got a few supply crates. Got the normal useless crap with the first one, the second however was a multi point Meteor Pilot.

Why? I don't own or plane to own that plane.   Also if that's the case, why not make it a generic pilot thats given out and you can train for whatever aircraft, instead of a specific model?

Retrain him to another plane.  Problem solved.

It wasn't a problem.  It just shows how little the developers think out their little game.

Also why the need to retrain? Just give us generic experienced pilot.

oh wait, they think some goober will actually go buy the plane now that they got a pilot for it. Brilliant!

Why would they? To encourage people to get a specific plane that they might not have. I'll never say no to those 5 skill pilots though. I've had a stockpile of german 5 skill pilots that's meant I haven't flown a german plane with a pilot with less than 5 skills since October. It'd be nice to have some for other nations though, and if the code for this game supports it it'd be nicer to get universal pilots that could be assigned a nation, but I won't complain about getting them either way.

Got no problem with these free crews ... I got a 3 point crew in some community event for the BV P.203 - which I will not buy or do missions for - but I will just put them in a new plane and retrain them or even better in a premium.

They give you a free pilot, and you don't have the plane he's trained to fly. Ok....so now you find him a plane to fly....place him in it and then retrain him to it,

Final training to new plane ....will cost you.....400 gold.

Now do you get it....their will always be strings attached to anything they give you here.

I got a 5 skill pilot for my Yak 15.

Always love free pilots.

Well I have had a pilot sitting around the airbase for years waiting for her P-47 to arrive.  But someday her plane will come in and she'll leap into the clouds to do battle with the nefarious red planes!!!

I don't mind, I'm a patient girl.

Yes, it's haughty and its arrogant but you're a battleship with 16 inch guns and Britannia Rules the Waves.  Maybe a bit of arrogance in this case is appropriate.

90% = 100k silver.  10k points to 100%.  Never pay the gold - pay the silver and fly.

And on a 3* weekend with the right plane that 10K XP can be a single battle.

Today I actually noticed I've got 2* spare 3pt Pe-2 gunners in addition to the 6pt one that I'm actually using.

A spare 3pt gunner for SB as well.

If I got Pilots along with those I've retrained them to other Soviet planes.

I have two random 5pt German pilots: Fw 190A 5 and Me 262 HG III.

I think my 3pt BV P.203 crew are from mission/s in the Event where that plane was available but separate from the Operation Order?

C'est magnifique, mais ce n'est pas le SerB.
