Fighter: La-5 or I-220, both have great firepower of unified type concentrated in the nose, La-5 more agility, I-220 more rakish looks, better speed & altitude.

Multi Role: probably Hurricane I, I like the reasonable mobility, dogfighting firepower of 8* machineguns & fast reloading bombs, Tornado is a contender, feels more comfortable than Typhoon/Tempest which seem to always be struggling for speed & hits in a way that Tornado doesn't.

Heavy: Beaufighter probably but maybe Hornet, blatting round the battlefield stomping on the unwary.

Ground Attack: out of only 3 I've actually played has to be the massive firepower of Il-20 even if its horrifically ugly & not easy to lug around the battlefield.

Bomber: A-26B, great mix of decent speed, altitude, defenses, 4 mini-strings of fairly quick reloading bombs makes it very enjoyable with lots of playstyle options.

Amazing what a difference a month or so can make.

Since this post I've got into the Calibration/Enhancement thing, I've finished research on and purchased 3 more T10s and my opinions of a bunch of planes has changed quite a bit.

Fighters:

I've got F-86A & MiG-15 bis now, both excellent with their own different flavours & outshine La-15 for my favourite T10 Fighter.

I think I'll stay with La-15/I-220 as favourites but its become a close thing with my new T10s.

Multirole:

Specialised Typhoon & Tempest with upgraded & enhanced equipment became much more powerful with speed, agility & accuracy boosts making them significantly more pleasant to play.

Hurricane I received much less of a buff but the Ia being a fighter gets both an Airframe and an Engine slot which make it feel considerably more useful than I've previously considered it.

Big surprise has been how much fun the I-211 & I-215 are, I-215 seriously competing with Tempest for favourite Multirole now.

Heavy:

P.1056 was an amazing Heavy experience, might be my favourite now.

GA:

I've moved on to Il-40 now and thats vastly better than Il-20 so new favourite GA.

Bomber:

I'll stick with A-26B.

C'est magnifique, mais ce n'est pas le SerB.

LFs = something in the 109 line, from south to north       except the F and the newly-buffed G... god, i wanted the G to work with me now, but no, the 108s just elude me

HFs = too many for just one!   p-38f, se100, 335 and the whole 110 line

MR = none, well maybe the seafang and i do like flying the Dora but it doesn't care much for me

GA = never enjoyed flying RU at all, that leaves germany and that's really all that's left, sadly

bombers = blennie, 111 then the b-17g and that's it, really     not a fan of sticks or carpets, but that g is a dazzling movie star in the air

Didn't Col. Hogan fly a B-17?

It took me the longest time to enjoy them. Still not my favorites but there are some fun ones out there! The Corsair line especially if you want something good all the way down :)

I love my Dora, and the Tornado/Typhoon/Tempest trio, but I would rather fly HFs or LFs.

The MRF that makes me giggle is the BV P.212.03.  That thing is just plain LOL-fun to fly.
