    Ok, I'm going to ask a question that has been asked many times, but never seems to be irrelevant when it comes to the design and workings of this game.

 

    So for the sake of posterity, I'm going to ask it one more time.

 

    Does anyone involved in the creation of "events" at WG ever play their creation before they hand it over to the community at large?

 

    It is like a chef never sampling their own cooking, because in theory the creators and designers of their own material should know exactly what we already know, but we get it anyway.

 

    So that means one of two possible things.

 

    First they are completely unaware of their own creations and how they will function.

 

    Or

 

    They are aware and realize they are very flawed, and give them to us anyway.

 

    Take your pick, but both should be unacceptable from any sort of quality stand point.

Weird how when I say it, it's "Being negative for no reason" and "Not giving WG a fair chance"

These new game modes should really go thru an Open Beta test.

 

While I'm sure the developers want to make a good game and think they are generally doing that, the folks who design, implement and test these game modes do not represent the typical WOWP player base and they are not the best people to determine whether the game mode will be fair/balanced or even fun. 

 

Anyone know the size of the Warplanes development and test teams?  10?  20?  100?  A tiny fraction of the player base, and certainly not a representative sample.

 

The only way to get good feedback on these new modes is to get a (large) sample of actual players.  Maybe then, they could have a better idea of when a new mode is ready for prime time.

They did... sort of... alpha and beta... the 2 times they ran bomber escort last year... they got a lot of feedback and it looks like they implemented some of it because the the game mode isn't just brokenly one sided letting the attackers win 95% of the time even if they go AFK...

Does WoWp not have test servers like WoT and WoWs? That might help

As I recall, they used to.  Then I think they let only RU and maybe EU players get on them, then none at all.  I could be wrong, but that was what it looked like.

What made me mad was the hard crash to desktop, then the inability to log back into the game for two hours.  It would have been nice to be able to play more.

 

On the other side of this, as a fan of heavy fighters, this event is a dream for defenders.

I won on both sides the other day.  Its all about limiting the other teams re-spawn.   If you can kill a lot of players and NPC/Bots early you will have a chance at the end. The times I won I was head hunting humans and targets of opportunity.  If you sit there in your 20sec wre-spawn waiting time and think where you will be most effective and go there it really helps.  There is tactics in this game.
