Requirement: shoot down 17 planes in one battle, win the battle and don't get shot down.

It's the final step in getting the XP-55. You can skip it but it will cost you a whopping 35 tokens.

I've got this medal before, but don't remember when, what tier or what aircraft.

So now i'm trying for a couple of nights to achieve it.

Best results achieved so far in the Hurricane Mk1a.
Got a couple of 16 kills with win and even  a 17 kills but my team lost that battle.

It seems impossible to earn it in a battle when you are downtiered. (best result here was 14 kills in spitfire Mk1a)
I came close most times with the tier IV premium Hurricane fighter, but so frustrating to miss it with one kill.
I also need a map with at least 4 cap zones.

So my question to the community?
What plane is best suited for the job?

I would use my trusted I-17,

stay low and shred anything close,

hope and pray for the right map and a team victory

Just straight up pick the plane you're best in and can hard carry in. Most of my Marseilles come from my 190 A-5 of all things so its really not an exact science.

But a truce to this mournful story

For death is a distant friend

So here's to a life of glory

And a laurel to crown each end

I'd go for a Spit or Bf-109E or something and camp over an airfield (preferably airbase for repairs) in the center ... bots will just keep coming when you take it. Also winning is a bit of a problem ...

Yup tried this, it racks up quite the scores, but my team keeps on losing those battles.
Anyway i have marked my starting point, i won't be chasing this Marseille forever, when i reach 35 tokens more than my starting point, i'll go for the buyout.
Best results in Tier IV Hurricane Mk1a an Tier V Spitfire Mk1a so far. Also got a couple of times close with the LaGG 3-4.

When achieving such medals is a requirement, i almost never achieve them.

Sooo... I have an issue with getting the marseille. I just had a battle that was won and I got 18 kills in a heavy fighter but no luck with getting the medal. 1 kil was with the tail gun and two were by ramming, do those three not count?

You also can't die.

The difference between Marseille and other "kill x in 1 life and win" (i.e. McCampbell and Lang) medals is that you have to do it in the CURRENT life - the one that you end the match with...which essentially translates to "you can't die for the whole match" anyway. The plus side for Marseille is that ADA and bomber flights also count.

To those who still have trouble getting one: I'd say stop thinking about it, leave them mission there, and keep playing. One will come your way eventually. Try too hard for it and you might just not get any because it will get to your head and your performance drop from loss of concentration.

WoWP makes a great jousting game...especially with the 262 and people busy in furballs...
I am deaf, silent, and fly with unrealistic controls. Do not count on me to carry - my back's already broken from overweight.

Yeah.  If the mission or medal or whatever crosses my mind, I fail to achieve it.  My mono focus takes it away.  Just fly, it will come, probably.

If the Marseille is a requirement to complete one of the XP-55 or Vampire missions, you'll need to achieve it with at least a T.IV plane, you'll have to win the battle and you can't die during the battle.

ISTR when I was working on the Vampire mission that I got mine while defending an airfield in an all-bot match.  Our bots and their bots were fighting it out over the garrisons, and I was defending the airbase.  The battle was long enough to get the kills required, I had the wrench, so I never got below 30% HP, and in the end, we won by attrition.  I also recall that I got an Ace that battle, but details are fuzzy.  It was just a good series of events where I got to not worry about anything but shooting down planes, and both the Ace and the Marseilles popped out at the other end, plus the one that you get for shooting down five after squall line, whose name I forget.  Super-bonus, it was five tokens of medals, plus a boatload of silver.

35 tokens is ten dollars. So, it's not that much. However, if you already have 17 tokens than it's only 5 bucks. What I am saying is that you don't always have to complete the mission. Instead, just focus on earning the tokens through the other missions. Besides, if you focus on earning tokens then you have played the long game and won. The top players in the game focus on earning tokens every day, not completing the hardest missions in the game.

I get plenty of Marsaille medals, but I spent the tokens anyways because I didn't want to wait.  it's not like I get one daily; and I will get them in odd planes.  I think I have more Aces in my my Boomerang than in any of my Spitfires.
