What all mice and keyboards are people using? I just upgraded my mouse to a Corsair Glaive and am just using the built in keyboard on my laptop.

Joystick gets so much 'love' (in discussion from types and etc. from players) that I think sometimes people forget that a good mouse can make a world of difference if that's your playstyle.

(And seriously.. a 16000 DPI gaming mouse makes mouse/keyboard play kinda epic)

Sorry, but if you think sitting in your comfy chair at home with a molded piece of plastic that performs the same function as a mouse (a pointing device) is flying. You're just playing a game.

Equally true statement there.

Still, I asked a question. If it doesn't fit you.. move along Sir.

I never could get the hang of a keyboard and mouse.  Too old, too slow, too set in my ways.  To each their own, I say!

Fair! It's part of why I am sticking with my mouse. I've gotten mouse and keyboard down, no sense in learning a new method to my view when it's the same physics engine =D But I figured I'd take a stab and upgrade my chosen interface device and was curious what others who used m/kb were hanging with :)

Ooo, that mouse looks fun. Pricier than mine is still looking at it, but wow the adjustments. Kinda jelly! And on the red dragon which model are you running? Ive looked at their keyboards and been considering when I get my desk set up whether to get an actual keyboard but have been hesitant since my old IBM mechanical clickety-clack and all the adapters died to pick a new one LOL

normal:

-- Mionix Naos 7000

-- Corsair Strafe red LED Cherry MX silent keyboard

-- Glorious XXL mouse pad -- mutes keyboard/mouse by eliminating movement/vibrations to the desk

quiet mode:

-- JNL101K quiet gaming mouse -- $18

-- Asus Cerberus keyboard (white) -- $23 open box; quieter than keyboard above; also comes in black

Obviously having 2 sets is not ideal, but quiet mode is compelling because it is cheap.

The keyboard I really miss is the Microsoft Sidewinder X4, no longer produced.

/edit: added mouse pad

I use a Logitech MX Ergo for my mouse and a G710+ for my keyboard.

I do fly Chinese aircraft a fair amount so... *ahem*

CHINA NUMBAH WAN

I even made a custom skin for my IL-10M!

It was a real shame when Microsoft got out of, or most of, the peripheral market.   They used to make some good stuff.

This is one of the greatest truths. MS did the entire PC gaming world a disservice when they got out of the peripherals market mostly. Their joysticks are still the best ever made and their mice are still second to none IMHO.

Agree!  Perhaps we'll see a return to greatness with recent announcements related to 1) keyboard/mouse integration on Xbox; 2) cross-play/migration of Xbox games to Windows

Logitech G15 backlit keyboard and G300 mouse. But only for playing shooters etc. and for some functions in Wowp. For the flying I use a Logitech 3D extreme.

Been 'flying' with joystick since Commodore and early PC days (80's) and ever since and  never could adapt to m/k for that.

SteelSeries Rival 310 mouse, very comfortable for me because I always had trouble gripping a conventional oval shaped mouse with my ring and little finger.

Nice silicone sides too as I believe is also the case with your your new mouse.

I used a SteelSeries Apex keyboard  before my desktop bricked late last year so now I'm also on my laptop.

As a slow hunt&peck typer I found a backlit keyboard is essential.

J311yfish speaks of 'quiet mode' and this is a mode I am strongly advised to maintain by my better half as I tend to lift and reset mouse position a lot while gaming.

I have a 14"x 34" x 1/2" high density cardboard 'plank' I use for a mouse pad and it is quiet and comfortable.

old Microsoft split-ergo keyboard, but i did splurge on a RAZER Lancehead gaming mouse.  I'm left-handed, so my options were somewhat limited.

It's an arcade game, not a flight sim.  For flight sim stuff, I still use my first-gen Thrustmaster stuff (when they were actually constructed out of aluminum.) JS/throttle/rudder pedals.

For computer arcade games like WoWP, I use a Corsair M65 Pro 9-button gaming mouse, and a giant Taito 11x14 mouse pad.  Regular old desktop PC/KB.

I miss all the MS hardware so much in general *sighs* And "Quiet" mode? Does this mean just keyboard/mice that doesn't make noise when used or?

I just upgraded from a Logitech M510 which replaced my ancient MS wireless laser mouse (I still have it somewhere, but the drivers don't work appropriately so it's boxed up along with the sidewinder force feedback JS and other bits and bobs)

How do you feel about build quality on it? Does it seem sturdy or flimsy? I'm a key-slammer so it's often the way I break a keyboard =D

The steelseries 310 was one of the mice I was considering until I settled on the glaive actually and yes it does have the silicon sides and it's got some nice little interchangeable thumbgrips as well. The neatest thing I've found is if I turn the brightness on the lights in the mouse to maximum it gets warm and acts like a little handwarmer LOL. Dunno if that was intentional on their part or not, but it's useful for my arthritis based on this morning.

Yea, I'm stuck on the laptop gig too, considered getting a keyboard anyway and just throwing the monitor to my 60" TV via HDMI and being a spoiled baby brat about my gaming LOL.

Jelly of the keyboard, the old split ergo MS keyboards were the most comfortable type of keyboard I had ever used. Being left-handed -does- limit mice quite a bit, but I've heard the lancehead is worth the moola.. although I'm always concerned with Razer and build quality because I've heard some horror stories. Myself, I do have a Razer headset and I love the thing!
