Someone who follows you around and only starts firing once you have the target almost dead? Just curious.

It really doesnt matter, the guy with the most hits gets the credit. A thief gets the assist.

At least usually.if he's down to 2 hp and someone else gets the kill you usually get the credit.

I can shoot down a dozen planes and still only get 3 kills though.

Whoever gets last hit gets the credit. You get "major contribution" if they nail it and drop it. WHich is only 125 points. They still get 200.

Basically you do all the work and they get ~40% more reward than you for following you.

I've literally only had one person pull it on me in the history of playing -this- game. Seen it plenty in other games.. but it's new to me here lol.

Just wondering if it's more common than I thought and this is jsut the first time I've noted it.

Trust me,I watched for this the last hour and getting the last shot will not give you the kill.

Dont make me youtube the replays. :teethhappy:

Just like ground targets, last hit gets the credit and +200 points. As would all of my replays and matches disagree with you.

o7 Good luck though, because I'm not going to argue what I'm seeing on my screen and what the game actually works like and says it works like.

Also.. been less than an hour since I posted this.. so...... Your statement doesn't even stand up to cursory examination and I'm curious why you'd even try such falsehood.

Man,your going to force me to do a youtube then? Unless you get a crit hit the last shot means beans. I dont do ground targets and in a furball I can find plenty of people down to 4 or so hp and take them out and get an assist every time. Otherwise I would have a lot more kills. I'm sure someone else can confirm it.

It's actually something I have been wondering about for a week and now confirmed that you cant steal a kill like you could in the closed beta days. No falsehood,if you want a video of my last few replays I can do.

I'm literally looking through the forums and I am -not- the only person to complain about the mechanics of the way kills are awarded RE: that last damage bit.

If you do the majority of the damage and someone else gets the last plink you -only- get 125 (Major contribution), any contribution whatsoever is +75, but FINAL HIT is +200.

You have 200 HP? I did 175 HP worth of that damage.. someone else comes in and does 25.. I get 125 and they get 200.

I've literally experimented this myself and game mechanics all point to the breakdown I just gave. As do multiple other discussions -on this forum- about it.

So if you can actually disprove that by demonstrating someone else walking up, shooting the plane to almost completely dead, then you shoot it and it awards them the kill.... go for it. But I can show you vid where it works exactly the way I said.

Perhaps blindfold can settle this argument.. but that won't be til tomorrow beacuse we get no CS on weekends.

Time consuming but will do! There has been a lot of topics posted on this before but if you need to see it again I can do.

Give me a day to gather more data.

Last hit = the kill.  Period.  Plane or Ground Target.  It used to be a bigger problem in the 1.9 days, for some reason.

These days I am grateful when someone follows my bomber around and takes the last shot on a plane I am peppering with my turrets.  It lets me get back to bombing which is where my points are.  A win - win for all concerned.

That isn't how it works, at all...

Guy who gets the kill gets 200 points... always... even if it's only a single shell.

The other two possibilities are an assist, worth 75... or, a major contribution, worth 125.

Never had that exact type situation but In bombers I appreciate a teammate in a following bomber or GAA because I often have trouble finishing off targets and better we get the capture than an enemy.

I'm quite sure this is not what your talking about though.

Here's another rather comical side of the kill stealing effect.

Apparently, in the game below, i was the kill thief and the aggrieved teammate followed me around all game killing me.

The 'steal' happened sometime in the first minute.

My deaths were logged as 'aircraft crashed'.

Did "The one who's teeth are sharp" get renamed/change his name to avoid being noticed?

Because that sure seemed like him...

If you had been extremely egregious and repeatedly followed and tagged what he was shooting at the last.. then I could see shooting you down -once-.. Seems fair as a warning/way to get you away and force you to stop following for a moment at least....

But that.. that was insane.. Why three times.. that's headhunting a teammate and that's just... why?
