The German tier 5 fighter is the Bf109E - possibly the most overpowered tier 5 fighter. The Spitfire I is still the most newbie-friendly but in expert hands the Bf109E is THE fighter to fly. It is a hybrid "energy fighter" that relies on vertical fighting to get its kills but can BnZ and TnB against its opponents depending on the situation. Its a plane that amply rewards smart flying and energy management and is highly recommended for the advanced pilot.

Agreed.  A pilot running Engine Guru I and II, with engine equipment upgrades and pilot skill Aerodynamics Expert can run pretty much any other aircraft into the ground, at-tier.  Even downtiered, the Emil is a very dangerous plane in the right hands.  With the full load out of cannon, this plane will just make other fighters wilt, and give heavies and GAA limited options.

When I'm having a frustrating day, I can just blame the bots. Vasiliy tried to get me chat-banned last week.

You are right that this community is nearly free of toxins. Of the WG communities, I'd say the tanks are the worst and the ships are in between.

I think another reason is the size. This group is clearly much smaller, and after only five months of seeing names repeated in the battle line-ups and the same names in the forum, I feel like I know people here. The recent Scrimmage allowed me to hear some of their voices, which brought even more familiarity.

Lastly, there are a number of helpful people on the forums that never seem to judge others, only offer support. They also exist in the other two communities, but they are somewhat obscured by the nasty people. I feel more acceptance as well. Since joining my second clan in WoT, I have heard from no one. As soon as I joined RAW here, I was warmly received.

I think a lot of what you see in Tanks and to a lesser extent in ships is the following.

Both Tanks and Ships have competitive modes and competitive Clans.  To be a part of one of the premium clans you often have to sport a certain win to loss ratio at a particular tier ranged (generally Tier VIII and above).   If a player can do that in normal game modes they either will not appear attractive to a Clan or will get booted from you current clan if you don't start producing.   As such, you find a much higher percentage of players in these games that simply can not afford to lose and they will exploderate over other players who they think are dragging down their never to underestimated game standing.

This can get worse while playing in the actual competitive modes as well. Of course World of Tanks has been doing it longer than WOWS has so the toxicity tends to be on a much smaller scale.  WOWPS does not, as yet, have any of these modes, hence any angst due to over-competitiveness is largely reduced.

Another factor is the number of players, there just aren't as many.  Every player is a potential flame war just waiting to happen.  World of Warplanes has a much lower player count than WOTs or WOWs, hence the chances of having someone lose it are significantly reduced as well.

Honestly.. I believe age is a huge bit of it. I'd say your average WoWP player is slightly older.

I concur and wish to convey that I enjoy the game as well, because it is so Non-Toxic.

I left WoT because of the toxic atmosphere that pervades the game.

My status is "Senior Airman". Is that because I'm old? :sceptic:

I saw an humorously perfect example this morning, but I couldn't quote it because it was full of language unacceptable on this forum.

I can get nasty and sour in chat, but I have made a concerted effort to halt that behavior and just enjoy the game itself.

Rewarded with an invitation to a great clan as well and now I am flighting up and having even more fun.

Peace,

Gunny

It was pretty bad at the start but most of them left after some bad updates and changes.

Now you have the older more patient vets left and a lot of us are still trying to figure out this capping sections type of flying game now.

We dont have time for drama, were here to fly and kill red guys and protect the bombers while they do what they do.

The manchild rage is real and abundant at low Tiers in Tanks.  Those people aren't worried about looking gud for gud clans.  They're just turds that have anger and control freak issues, and Tanks attracts that kind of belligerant control freak PVP element.  Some of them are even raging just because that's what they enjoy doing.

I think that part of it is that there's too much going on to have time to type into chat.  I barely have enough time to type in "o7"

correct, and many were like that 25 years ago...

but not so much now due to natural maturity

but the outliers on both ends are the funny ones...

possibly the whole reason the Forum Games are so dang popular

peeple be krazy... an' dats so funne

if the pilot's good, see, I mean, if he's really..sharp, he can barrel that baby in so low [he spreads his arms like wings and laughs],

you oughtta see it sometime, it's a sight. A big plane like a '52. VRROOM! There's jet exhaust, fryin' chickens in the barnyard.

First post, first post I have felt motivated to respond to. I left ships and the most refreshing thing over here (for me personally) is the lack of chat griefing going on. I try to message people and say good game afterwards, and have had very few negative encounters. The lack of chat and the maturity of the chat when it does happen, is especially refreshing to this not yet quite 50, 40 something...

I'm not here to run my mouth and tell you how to fly your plane, I just want to play.

We are pretty much all skeered of a chat ban.  I apologize to those who greet me at the start of a battle but I don't reply because it arouses the bugs.

I really hate to burst a bubble this good, but chat isn't working at all for a lot/most players. So either we all got banned for a lot of dreadful things we said- which you're now spared- or the maturity of the chats you're listening to is because they're all between bots...

If you've heard Vasily politely asking Dimitry if he'd like to wander over to a training room together later, or Karl wondering if Hans is OK today, well there you have it... Get Krautjaeger's Who's the AI Bot mod and you too can marvel at who you can't hear and speculate as to what they might have said to get banned... As an added benefit, it can help you too in sorting the humans from the bots and who to prioritize as a target or avoid like the plague...

Yea, I'm clued into the bots chatting with each for sure. What I was referring to was the actual griefing by humans running down others game play, there has not been much but there has been some. At any rate the silence for me is golden. After having visited here and seeing all the complaints about the issues with chat banning it makes more sense now, but I was under no false illusion that the community had 567 players all asking how many frags they had in the last battle or third time in a row on this map.

I consistently getting "GG" IM's post battle, unless those are bots too, they seem to carry on a pretty good conversation for an AI. Possibly just my experience, if so more the better for me. Thanks.

Because there's too much action (and respawns) and flying is too hands-on to allow people time to type nonsense into the chatbox.

I written on this before.

In 1.X with no respawns, people had a lot of time on their hands after being shot down waiting for the battle to be over and often felt the need to occupy themselves with the in-flight chat.  Surprisingly, there was just about as much grief from my own team about "stealing" kills and generally not flying "right" as from the opponents about cheating or poor sportsmanship (ramming, picking on individuals, etc).

Sometimes, I'd get a full 10 minutes of complaining which would often escalate to messages so censored  I couldn't understand them (**** you, *** *******) when I didn't respond.

The 2.0 crowd is much more laid back, or has too much going on.

LOL.  My grand daughters introduced me to the character about three years ago.  They found him fascinating and I highly recommend the books for young readers.  Anyway, now at the ripe old age of ten, they have decided that he is just 'kid's stuff'.  They are appalled that I picked that as my moniker.
