When i fly fast high altitude planes:
Fly as high as i have to and engage everything else at my level. Heavy ADA is a priority followed by Incoming Reds
Does a heavy try to dive away ? let him. I dont go lower until there is nothing left to shoot.
This should take 2-3 passes. and maybe a boosted climb and another pass for the occasional Bomber.
Am i still alive? Great!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
take a second and Breathe. Check your Map . Now.
Link up with your Wingman.
decide now if you need to get to a new cap or finish off / protect this one.
If the former go to new cap and repeat.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
If the latter, then look down and see what weakened planes i can kill quick for the points.
Pick out one High value target.
How?
Flight Leaders: Inform you Wingman of the designated target at this time. (if you have one)
NOW its ok to Dive. (save that Boost for later) Boom them. Zoom away. maaaybe fire a burst at whatever else blunders in front of you as you zoom away.
Dont get greedy. one tight turn and all your energy is lost and your wingman over shoots and there is a spitfire on your [edited]...
and then you're dead.
DO NOT TURN fight unless you can swing a vertical engagement. (i.e. American/German Light Fighters)
Remember that Boost: this is what you save it for as you get back up high where you belong.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Breathe. Check on your wingman.
Check the high altitude airspace for more victims. If none found Decide if new cap is needed.
If not Repeat the last paragraph.
And that is how you can Heavy Fighter. (or American/German light Fighters if your build + pilot skills is good)
Fair warning. My success rate at speculative guesswork is on par with my WinRate. Hit or Miss.
I start on the right track and then sometimes make a weird left turn and get lost in the weeds ...
