did you clear the cache?

Leading a target is not as easy as it looks. So dont beat yourself up.
the multitude of .50's really do work better the closer you get. 500~ish meters may be the maximum range but things get [Noticably] better the closer you get. Especially with the Marksman pilot skills. (Which as a Jug pilot better be on your to-do list)
The best acknowledgement that your damage was done (for me) comes from the auditory cues.
The thumpitythumpitythumpity and the occasional POW of a critical hit or a fire.

the game sound effects are resistant to ping issues, dropped frames, rubberbanding etc.
even when the screen goes black and your joystick freezes.
When visual cues are affected the sound maintains its accuracy..
Cues like: the sparks on your target, yet no damage accumulating (a not uncommon occurance) , falling bits and pieces like you described, bursting into flames and smoke trails, etc.

It is possible that the audio data is a thing that is easier (and as such faster) for the game to process and transfer from the server to your computer and back again. And probably is done separately from all the myriad other calculations the game program keeps track of from moment to moment.
But that is a wild guess on my part.

And clearing the cache really does help.

I clear it every time I play the game and I was close enough to the plane honestly it's really weird it only happened so far the past two days on the p47b I got the gun sights on it but it's weird. the plane is a bit of a troll.

  • Your rating will be based on the number of enemy aircraft destroyed while attacking or defending sectors.
  • You need to participate in at least 20 battles on the chosen aircraft and score at least 3,000 personal points in each of these battles.
  • The number of battles is not limited, the more enemies you destroy — the better!
  • There is a separate rating for each aircraft.
  • One player cannot be present in both ratings simultaneously.
  • The top-50 results of each nation will be summarized, the winning nation will receive additional reward  — prem_aobmh8m.png 3 days of Premium Account.

just some thing to think about

Is there a premium 109 F ??

I thought only the 109 E had a premium version, the E-3 ...

Not many people seem to like the 109F.

Good, then maybe I have a chance at one of the prizes ... (on EU server, don't have the F on NA yet).

i like my bf109 f did not like the bf 109 e guns over heat to fast

ROFL! Great post Greg.

I think it might be cheaper to just buy the xp-58, those drugs aren't cheap mate :B

hey blindfold can I make a small suggestion for future events like this maybe you guys can do a thing were people can sign up that want to participate and you guys can add them to training rooms or send them a key were they can go in said training room for this kind of a event. so their not in base match making system and not have a giant sea club event. plus if you did a event like that you could increase the bots difficulty on both teams if you didn't have enough players any have a good day all and have fun during the event.

Greg, how many do you have right now???

my problem is boom and zoom I have no idea what I'm doing lol I am more of a turn fighter but right now I bought back the tier 5 p38 and I got the tier 4 bf 109b

bnz is harder than tnb mostly because of the target preplanning that's required... dive on a high value target, then zoom off in a direction where you won't get jumped yourself

it doesn't sound very productive, and it's not...  because the real value is that your target has to constantly keep looking over his shoulder, and that lowers his productivity

pick a specced vet and pester him to death again and again... he's leaving your bots alone to win the battle for you

the 109b and the p-38f are two of my all time favs, once i committed myself to learn a different mindset than just plain old missionary-style tnb

Based on what I have seen tonight, if you want some "free" gold (if you have the time), hop in your 109F and play 20 games with more than 3,000 personal points.

With the lack of people playing 109Fs (that I have seen), you are pretty much in the running to win some gold.

I kinda like this event, forcing me to grind my P-38J up to specialist, which I never bothered to do.  Not guaranteed I will win anything, but learning some stuff aboot the plane.

Side note:  I used to love the 109F in 1.X, but then they nerfed the guns so very hard, it was an easy plane to sell and utilize the pixel pilot elsewhere.

Based on what I saw yesterday over 6-7 hours, I think these people might be high on the list (in no particular order):

P-38J

-- Sea of Stars

-- HoujuuNue

-- Greg Pattinson

Bf 109F

-- Von_Hellswinkle

-- J311yfish -- ~300 kills in ~45 battles over ~6 hrs -- went from Elite to Specialized (Improved ~254 x4)

-- Tank-something

I saw many people not playing as either of the above -- many Spitfires, P-51's, P-47's.

I think HoujuuNue is 2nd, just behind of Sea Of Stars in the P-38J. Well, it's a close contest between those two for 1st place anyway if I had to guess.

I started playing the BF109F but stopped because there is no leaderboard or any way to check your progress or know where you are ranked. I like the way this event was laid out but Im just not down to spam one plane all weekend without even know how well Im doing.

I really do agree with all of this.
except that last bit. I never had the curse/blessing of playing the game in any iteration prior to v2.0.

I suppose one can look at the Bf109 version of this contest as a proper challenge:
"Earn a shiny and Rare (1 of 50) medal.  A Legendary Fighter Pilot achievement.
By using the most difficult to use fighter in the Bf 109 line ...
Kill as many planes as you can (no small feat in this notoriously under gunned and for that reason notoriously under used plane) in any match that makes more than 3k pp. "
So underused that the supply crates and gold for participation are almost a certainty.

I understand that the p-38 j is involved for (really neat) historical reasons.  ... But the competition  feels rather different.
The Bf 109  is all about everyone competing  with planes that are most likely to be not even elite, let alone specialist,

While the only reasons that come to mind that there are not more P-38 J's in the sky is because tier 6 is a bit more competitive.
And the F is just so much fun anyway.
In this variation there will be a lot of competition for that Legendary Heavy Fighter Pilot achievement.
But at least you will get 3 days of premium and a specialist P-38 J if you didnt already have one.

I kind of agree with the desire to know how your standing as the event goes on.
However there is something to be said for not knowing.
It encourages you to "Keep Doing The Best You Can For As Long As You Can"  and treat this foot race more as a Marathon than a Sprint

In the past (pre-2.0) I know that somehow you could check your progress.  There was one with GA where I was neck and neck for 5th place and somehow pulled it off for a good gold win.  Probably due to my insomnia, but it was very close.

There used to be real-time or at least near real-time stats.  They killed the APIs into this game.  Not sure why, but they have not built them back and I think that even hampers them (Persha) from time to time.

As near as I can tell, from what blindfold mentioned, the event is run by the NA staff (cricket).

I guess the russians told them to do it since it's on all servers, but this somewhat begs the question why they chose to run this manual event.

Just have to ask, is that a hazmat suit in your avatar or a doggie type outfit?  It looks like both to me and I cannot decide...
