Realized that I only needed 10 kills and 4 sectors to reach Spec on the Beau V, I took her out two more times to reach status.   Took the gear up to Ultimate, added Engine Guru to the pilot, and took her up for a spin.

15 kills, Hero, Legend, McGuire and McCampbell.  Was 11 bots and a newbie in red, but it was a slaughterfest nonetheless.  I think that maybe, just maybe, the Beau V might be OK.  :great:

congrats. Yes, Veebat said the same thing on his video, that the Beau V when specd out is good.

I thought it was just fine stock, but the extra thrust is a big help, and o DAYM the guns with Ultimate Gunsight and Long Barrels.  :playing:  Adding reaction time to the cute turret is an added bonus.  Just my experience in one game, Veebat knows a heck of a lot more about the game then I do, glad that we agree!  :teethhappy:

I'm debating whether I want to pay the gold price for my specialist on it.  I paid the iron price on EU, and just not sure if I am feeling it again.  That said, I have never token'd a specialization out before, so I am not certain I want to start now.

I don't think I will ever token out a spec plane. But for me the reason why is because I want to really know for sure that i actually like using the plane and what build I really want for it. is it a keeper, etc. If you already paid the iron price for it on another server then have no fear at all using tokens for it here. I just have never been in that situation. Do you like the plane? Do you think you will use it a lot? But specing a a premium to me is just a matter of flying it enough. so I don't see a reason why I would use tokens. Then again, I also have never run into the situation where I wanted a plane but certainly didn't want to fly it UNLESS it was speced. Maybe one day I will find a plane that is good only when speced and but still a keeper and then I will just use tokens.

like I said, I already did spec it out the hard way on EU.  I'm not going to "gain" the experience doing it again.

As for if I like it or not...I feel like there's a lot of potential in it that I am not getting out of it.  I'm not much of a heavy fighter guy.  *shrug* I just don't know how much I will fly it on NA.  On EU it will probably see more use since I need silver and I need exp on my heavy fighter pilot...but I don't really fly over there super often.

I got the Stormcrow to Spec yesterday.  Took her out at Ultimate, and could definitely see the improvement.  Boosted damage on the rockets was key, now takes two rockets instead of three to take out a flak bunker.  Boosted accuracy on the guns also a fun thing, popped several GAA and a human light fighter.  :playing:

Hmm. I happen to own a Specialized SE-100 myself. It's as fun as all get-out. Do 217 M, which I just got, I probably WON'T keep to specialize because if the German high-tier Bombers come and among their ranks is a He-177, I'm going there and stopping until I have another slot to continue the line. I have, however, kept both my Do 17 Z and my Ju-88a.

Once I was in a battle with 2 spec se-100s on each team.

Everything's stupid, everything's wrong

MGs are too weak and cannons too strong

The ju-87 is simply a waste

xp past the do-17z with great haste

*drumroll*

Spec'd the F4U-4 this afternoon.  O MAN the extra ~40kph cruise speed makes a difference, and getting some rocket buffs didn't hurt my feelings at all.  With Ultimate gear, I added +4 Airspeed and +2 Maneuverability in plain numbers over the Elite version.  As with the earlier versions, this bird seemingly comes into its own at Spec.

I got the Me 262 HG II to Spec today.  Took it out with (amost) all the gear at Ultimate.  18 kills, Legend, McCampbell.  Guns got better, bird got faster, and just that little bit easier getting the nose around to make use of the guns.  w00t!   :playing: (about 37k short of getting the HG III. . . . )

You people keep making me pull out planes I souked in.  So I pull it out, do the things, and I still souk, SOMETIMES.  And sometimes, I find a new fave plane.

With both of the Corsairs, I always found myself too slow and too low, trying to get up to where the action was, and getting bounced in a low energy state by what I was trying to get up to.  At Spec, with the Engine slot and consumable available, that issue is greatly reduced.  I can regain altitude faster, get to the next base faster, and still have the ordinance and guns to do work once I get there.  Bombers come into their own at Spec has been a meme almost from the start, but I'm noticing that some MR lines are in that ballpark as well.

Spent a couple games getting the Bf-110-B up to Spec today.  Was having a great run of top-tiered, blasting ALL the things games.  Ran out of Mechanical parts before I could get the engine and gun barrels past one Enhancement, took it out to see how it would work, and ran into two downtiered games against ALL the humans.  Rough sledding, to put it mildly.  Adding a Gunsight to a bird with a nose made of guns is just wonderful.  The engine consumable doesn't solve the mediocre climb and acceleration, but it's still a help.

Played one match in my Boomerang today, and apparently that was all I needed because I unlocked specialist for it. 2 Special Project Equipment make this plane a darn sight better than it was unspecialized. Also, hurray for only my 4th Specialist Plane!

Next up will probably be my P-51K that I got from Crzyhawk a while ago.

An average player with an average goal: greatness, someday. Today, mediocrity will have to suffice. But no matter, I will always play to the best of my ability, and I will always strive to make the best of my ability just that little bit stronger and better.

Fastest plane at T4.

If you can just manage that supertanker-like turn rate...

;)

Picked up and spec'd the Spitfire Vb today.  It went pretty well, but the match maker was really generous to me all day.  I haven't flown in a few months, but I guess I can still fly Spits decently.

Spitfires are sort of eay to fly.  My time in the Vb has been a lot of T7 matchmaking, but with a speed build, it still does pretty well.

I went down the Ki line to get to the Salamander planes at T9 and T10, and turny plane have their charms.  The Ki-84 is great.  Maybe I'll need to finally give in and go down the Spit line.  How fast can I get to the Swift?  ;)
