Got my third specialist, although this one makes me feel a bit guilty.  I specialized my XP-31, and it already felt like a seal clubber.  It was funny, because the main reason I did it is because I was flying the T2 RU GAA to finish a mission (I don't like GAA so far) and this dude in a specialized XP-31 went head to head with me, then went crazy calling me a ramtard when I didn't try to avoid him.

So, I grabbed my own XP-31 and figured I'd specialize it out to take a break from my Hurricane I.  I ran into the same guy the next three games, always on the red team flying a specialized I-5, and demolished him.  he talked crap every time he died to me too.  He donated a lot of kills to that specialization, so if you're out there buddy, thanks for the help.

Specialized my Hurricane I today.  That seemed excessively slow.  I much prefer the light fighter scoreboard of just counting kills.

Some of the guys flying those low tiers only have over 35,000 battles.

Did he like waffles? If he did, can you post his presence at tier 2 over here so I can try to go say hello if I'm online?

So here's to a life of glory

I dont recall his name now, sadly.  It was something like deathmoon, but I don't recall for certain.

I put in a lot of flying today, and managed to specialize my Spitfire Ia. Now that I have a more worthy list:

- F2A-1

- BF-109B

- XP31

- Hurricane I

- Spitfire Ia

Is it actually worth it to mount the specialist equipment?  I find myself focusing every set of wings I see; I am not sure the extra equipment is worth the extra attention.  Is there any wisdom on this?

No wisdom ... just what you think is more important.

I like Specialist - on most planes, there are exceptions - because of the extra slots and more enhancement levels.

It makes your plane - not you ;-) - just a bit better than other, similar planes. More speed, more accuracy, better health ... but yeah, there is that bull's eye on your plane :( , it should be an option really, it adds nothing to the game.

The wings DO make you a target, but that's usually not a huge problem.  (might be different if there were more players per battle)  I would WANT to Spec just for the extra module enhancements, but I've stopped purchasing Specialist since I'm at higher Tiers now so I'm constantly short of credits and have a bunch of planes researched (and some premiums) that I can't even afford to purchase, equip and fly.

Specialist planes:

SPAD S.510 :: P-40 :: MiG-3 :: A6M1 :: XP-44 :: Fw 190 A-5 :: Me 209 V4 :: Venom :: Caudron C.714 :: Ki-88 :: Wirraway :: Tomahawk IIb :: TsKB I-7 :: Ki-5

^^^this, right here.  For cannon-armed planes, getting the bonuses for the gunsight are kind of important, especially at higher tier.

listen scrub. having extra anything is good. being able to turn up to 2 seconds faster is good. boosting over 100+kph faster is good. 15-18% ROF is good or range and dmg. reducing your ordnance reload by what 40% is good. more turret range and crit is good. Having more consumables.

thinking oh i have wings, i'm a target, is stupid. your plane is more deadly and you should be as well.

dis is the list of equipment with full specs https://worldofwarpl...equipment_full/

Added the XP-40 (Hawk Model 81-A1) to my list

EDIT:  Repurchased my A6M1 to play with Greywar, and specialized it too while he was specializing his Hurricane.
