great creative idea for a topic, CR!

I wish I had NEW planes to talk about, but for the last few sessions I've been concentrating on doing the same longer grinds that just take a while to complete.

I flew for quite a while today, but at a 25% win rate I didn't get to fly many planes and couldn't get the x3 XP in all of them.

XP-44 - inching closer to Specialist, soooo slowly.  lots of medals, great scores, only one win.

P-47B - finally researched P-47N, but I never have the credits to buy new planes anymore.

Ar-2 - too many players during daytime to do well in bombers.  I often had to play fake "fighter" because there was nothing to bomb, and one game didn't even score any ground damage points.

I-220 - after a few games with machine guns I forgot how to pace my gunfire to avoid cannons overheating

Fw 190 A-5 - the one plane that worked for me today and got a win right away.  I still don't have nearly enough credits to buy the Fw 190 D

Tempest - I wouldn't be surprised if my win rate is as low as 15% in Tempest.  It does lots of damage, but at Tier 8 I don't do quite enough damage to have an impact.

Argh, in the last game in Tempest I was on one of the maps with tons of clouds and often couldn't see anything around me as a result.  :/  Hate those maps.

Asian Border or Cold Peak? Also, Albion has a butt ton of them as well.

Well I just got my first Tier VI today, the Do 217 M that I have had unlocked for months but never quite had the credits to buy, thanks to the March of Nations: Germany sale.

Probably won't play it until after this stage of the Personal Ratings event ends though.

It had Zeppelins...I think.  Flew towards a heavy fighter icon that was chasing something else, and lost sight inside the cloud...next thing I know it's flying at me head-on.

Ah yes, that would be the map that is so beautiful but such a ROYAL PAIN to play in anything other than a GAA or Bomber, chiefly due to the overabundance of low-level clouds on it, Albion.

Ah, the vision skill. Tried it out last night; didn’t notice a difference with the thick cloud effects. Nice for bomber hunting on some maps, but can’t say much more for it.

Vision is important.  I always take it for my first skill point.

I've tried using both(enemy detection 40% sooner!) with Bombers to spot interceptors earlier, and the combination of the two skills(one for the pilot and one for the gunner) is not bad, and there's no denying that it's useful, but usually there are better one-point options, such as Fire Fighter, and for the gunner, Endurance or whatever the heck that skill is called, to pick first. I think the combination of the two vision skills was better before 2.0.5, but with the turret sight now making the gunner very vulnerable, a 20% lesser chance of losing the gunner is more helpful than 20% more vision.

Just to let you know my background, I came from WoT and WoWs, and I have played (since August 2018) a little over 1100 battles in WoWp.

I have mostly focused on the Japanese. I have gone up the army line to the Ki-94-II, and I don't plan to continue. I wanted to be able to play in the Tier VIII to Tier X category for certain missions, and the Ki-94-II will suffice.

I was grinding the MiG-3 toward the I-220, but I took a break as I was suddenly inspired to get a P-38F (partially by a post by trikke). I don't need any more Tier V planes, but I thought it might be fun.

So, I played the P-40 last night, and had some great battles, especially the last one (13 kills, 4 chevrons). I'm always surprised how wonderful that plane is. I am 2/3 of the way toward the P-38F.

The past week, I've flown the MiG-3 and the P-39N-1, the latter because I burned a lot of credits buying the Ki-94-II and Specializing some of my Japanese planes (A6M3, A6M5, Ki-84, and Ki-102),and I needed to run a competent premium that I enjoy.

I usually fly one plane per night if I'm grinding.

The last few nights have been almost entirely credit/mission/PR grinding with my lovely, clunky, chunky Mustang Mk.I - with a smattering of Fantome & some random tier 8’s.

I mostly fly my Bombers,(no Light/low-level bombers though. Bleh! Disgusting heretical bombers) with a good bit of Heavy play, and some dabbling in all the other classes.

I think I mostly have German aircraft right now: Do 17 Z,(keeper) Ju-88a,(keeper) Do 217 M(just got this one), Bf 109B(grinding), Bf 110B(grinding) Fw 189 C Eule(I grind this one once in a while, but I don't play GAA much anymore. Besides, all that remain are the two turret upgrades), Me 209 V4(Premium, but you knew that)

I have

Last night: beating my head against the wall trying to score a Marseilles medal for the final XP-55 mission.

So many 14, 15 kill games in the Fantome, Fw 190 A1, and Mustang. So close! Maybe today I break out the Me 262 and bomber hunt for those seventeen kills...

Seventeen is a lot.

I'm playing Frontline as much as I can while it's running.  I may fly Warplanes some during Frontline cerfew time.

I've been doing the "350k damage on ground targets in a victory" stage for maybe two weeks.  There's a medal stage right after that which I'll probably promptly skip with tokens.  I bought enough tokens to skip all the hard parts when it comes time.
