KI-8, tier 2 Jap plane with a little turret gunner.
Period 1 dailies are slapped on us vets and we are accused as being evil for obtaining them, and I do look for planes that help to get them as soon as possible. The seals ..... Anyway....
I rediscovered the Ki-8, a Jap fighter with a beebee gun turret, and a new little plane to get some period 1 dailies done. Specialized in the hands of a non noob, it is great.

I have sold that plane ten times. Tell me, how do you equip it to make it worthwhile? Other than having your huge amount of experience, so it doesn't matter what you fly...
IOW, at T2, why would I pick this plane, over my Ar-68?

Because variety is the spice of life. The more variety, the better.
And the Ki-8 is a pretty plane, IMO.

The 68 is better in all aspects, number-wise, except survivability. The Ki 8 is one tick tougher. No reason, really, to pick it over the 68 except for the following:

Annd there it is.
I don't do observably better in the 68 than I do the Ki-8, perhaps because of that experience thing you mentioned. It is a good enough plane that's tough for a Jap fighter and it looks cool with that beebee gun on its back.

i've been playing Ki-8 recently as well. i am using it mainly to build skill points for the gunner, so i can put him in the Ki 45 if i decide to buy it.

I spent very little time grinding mine. Cranked through as fast as I could, then sold it. I own a P-38F. Nothing even comes close.
Yesterday, I took the Masha up. Interesting plane, but getting used to the guns is going to take some practice. I don't fly Soviet tech-tree planes, so learning the arcs was literally from scratch. The overheat cycle is very unforgiving of my poor accuracy!
Due to Daily Missions, I was derping around with mid-tier US planes, and took the P-39N-1 up for a spin. I don't fly this little thing very often, but had two very good games in it, second one Marsielle and just missed an Ace with 19 kills. Had some decent games in the various Corsairs as well, enjoyable planes once Specc'd. Some strictly air-to-air, others using the rockets to good effect as well.

The Anty M has a secret, and not in a good way.
The target plane health bar shows up about 200m prior to the tange where the guns really have any effect. So, if the max range stated for the quad 23s is 750m, you get an indicator that the plane is in range at 950m.
Don't shoot at 950m, because you'll get no hits, and overheated guns.
Wait until 700m, then tap fire. That's when you get a massive melting of HP.
flew my xp31 tonight
and had fun taking down a pair of unflighted ar 68's
it wasnt easy, the 68 is a match but the pilots of them made some bad decisions.
i turned in circles so much it made me woozy, all in all a great night of gaming.
hope yall are having as much fun as me or more.
uh-oh ,, hope im not a seal clubber

Had a 25k Ace game in the Swoose yesterday, right up near a PB in the plane, but nowhere near the 28 kill game I had over the weekend. Was a short session, so flew a few games in favorites, and then put in a pair of games in the Masha. First one was dire. Bottom-tier, red GAA bots were uptier, Military Base in the middle, and both the blue humans were in light fighters. 6 kills, died 4 times. Just an awful game. Mentioned in Clan-chat that the Masha was suffering.
Next game, vs allbots on the all Garrison map. 21 kills, first Ace in the Masha, along with Akamatsu and Kozedub and the usual Hero and Legend that come along with such games. Sometimes, the stars align, and the Sun shines down upon my empennage!
Now when / if I can have those sort of Masha games with humans in the mix, I might be getting somewhere!
F7U Cutlass. I took it out for the first time ever last night. Love the 4 500s bombs. I also very much enjoyed going from a very fast GAA dropping destruction to heading straight up for heavies and bombers, which I could dispatch while grinning. Questions:
I went for an all speed build (and yet I still try to turn on people, sheesh, my bad not the plane's). All speed build desirable for this plane (as long as I try to stop turning/burning)?
One 500 bomb should take out any peripheral target, I would assume. Will one also take out a target with buildings? Will it take 2 or 3 bombs to take out the complex in the middle of a mine/military base?

WBB, takes 2 of the 500lbers to take out armored buildings, all 4 for the Plant Workshop properly placed. but see below for the real treat. . . .
