The "woman of the house" is on night shift, so I was able to do some rare evening flying!
Blenheim IVe - I have 60k of damage/XP(?) to go on a 10 token mission, which I chip away at daily, plus a long way to go to qualify the Blennie for Specialist.
Bf 109 F - Generally a relaxing plane to play - I did the two battles I needed to research the Bf 109 G
Bf 109 G - First flight, a slim victory protecting the Mining Plant in what seemed headed for a loss. Faced off against a P-51D, and whoever had the most bot buddies nearby won the fight which is why I went defensive to camp the Mining Plant.
Bf 109 catch fire more than I remembered. I'll have to keep an eye on that.

I use Q and E.
Occasionally I miss E and accidentally fire off a rocket.

all right, you're a better pilot than me then
i've heard about it's weaknesses, what are it's strengths?

Flew the tempest tonight - 3 losses 1 win. But, +4 towards the token missions. For the record, I use c and v for my rudder, usually with my thumb, but sometimes my index finger. I'd like to get enough creds for the Sea Hawk, as well as earn the boxes, but that probably won't happen.
I used to fly the xF4F-3 all the time, but then I started running into bf-109b's, T5 planes, and other things that do what the XF4F-3 does, only better. The premium Wildcat can't turn and has horrible energy retention. That said, it's fast in a straight line and in a dive and has ok guns for the tier. Also, it has a ton of hit points. It just can't do the energy fighter game as well as other energy fighters.

Tempest, Tempest, Tempest TEMPEST FREAKIN' TEMPEST AGAIN!
Oh yeah, Rudder Control: Here is what I did and it might be pretty lame, but I like it. I changed <Flight Controls> <Advanced Settings> so that <Roll Rate> is set to zero. I used to have it at 10% to just get a little roll from my left/right mouse movements, but found that annoying. Anyway, this way, my left and right mouse movements only control the rudder. It's really helpful when playing GA and you just want to pivot. In a fighter, you really have to work the A and D buttons to control your roll, but I like it that way, it makes me think about how I want to turn. Do I want it to be a flat turn, or do I need to tune the A or D button to go 90 degrees from horizontal or whatnot.
I am not a great player by any means and this setup might be a factor. But I like it, I feel like I am more in control my how my pixel plane flies.

For tonight's Great Credit Grind I moved to my USSR premiums. Unlike Tanks we don't suffer much Russian Bias in this game - some of these planes are terrible:
Plane Result Points Profit
TsKB-12bis Victory 5190 72500 This plane has its moments top-Tier, but is very weak bottom Tier
Di-6i Victory 6900 87250
I-15bis DM-2 Victory 13060 150425
BSh-1 Victory 4690 63650 poor score doesn't reflect how I actually owned the cap FTW
I-153 DM-4 Victory 13650 177375
LaGG-3 (4) Victory 12885 161000 I think this is the first time I've flown this
I-207/4 Victory 7915 116000
I-16-29 Defeat 3725 51000 1 kill and 1 ground target. I refused to fly this shitcan a second time
I-180-3 Victory 9150 151000
LaGG-3 (34) Victory 8040 140500 The Holy DERP Grenade was with me. Many LOLs were had.
P-40 M-105 Defeat 8450 ?????? I actually did well, but was constantly focused across the entire map by the enemy Spitfire player.
Profit: About 1.25 million
I still have more USSR premiums that either aren't equipped or I didn't get to by server reset.

But do you agree that this plane is just a complete joy to fly? I love mine. Maybe I'll fly it sometime this weekend. So, to the topic of this discussion....
I haven't flown much for the past month. Just not feeling it, and really didn't want to spend any time after work looking at yet another computer screen. But I felt the call of battle, so...
Repurchased the Demon and the Hurricane I for the Heart of the Hurricane event. The only reward I really care about is the 50x mechanical parts. Funny thing - flying the Demon, if I win, then I get a bunch of mechanical parts anyway. Win/win/win!
First battle in the Hurricane reminding myself how this guy flies. Unfortunately, there was a guy in an I-17 that quickly recognized my ABC strategy (Always Be Capping, for those who don't know). This made life hard, because in every way, the 1-17 is a better aircraft. And this guy wasn't a half-baked potato. Being where he wasn't took way too much time, because the Hurricane is not a fast flier. The next battle, I got matched up him again, except on the snow/mountain map, so I could hide better. The outcome was the same, so I decided to flex some of my seal-clubbing muscle.
Flying the Demon is a bit frustrating, because the Demon shoots things down SLOWLY, unless you are right on top of your target. Less than 200m range, you can quickly remove HP from red planes. Anything much further out, and it's peck to death. Slowly. The beauty of this plane is how well it turns. Using the keys for full rudder or elevator will get you around on many an unsuspecting seal. I got caught not watching the minimap, and found I caught a human in his own Demon on my six. I had him in three turns, and he was griping about it in the chat. Flew for a few wins, then back to T4.
Flew the Hurricane again, only to find my I-17 friend still at it. OK, time to uncork all my sneaky tricks. First, find him. Then, assign a bot to attack him. Then, when he is paying attention to the bot, shoot to kill. SUCCESS! But, tired of having to be all strategic and tactical and stuff, I decided to finish up with a bit of comfort flying.
The Bf-109B is an absolute joy to fly after fighting with the Hurricane to make it into a hard-carry machine. Two battles with 1-17 guy, but this time, *I* am the one dictating the time and place of the fight. BnZ 4evah, baby.
The slow of T4 finally got old, and I decided FAST was what I wanted. The Me-262 is my hotrod, and I love doing everything in the vertical with this OP machine. Load up the battle, and my heart just drops. Human Vampire, Pancake and Ju-288C on the red team, IL-20 and Spitfire to round out my team's humans. Crud. On the map with two garrisons, two mines and a central military base. My IL-20 goes to the nearest mine, I and burn my 10-sec can of boost juice getting over to the other mine before the 288 gets there. Well, I get there and it's not only the 288, but also the Pancake. Crud, again. OK, head-on the bomber, and crush out 50% of his HP, turn to the vertical and punch it. Get up into the red to see the Pancake also vertical, but dropping back. Rudder over just in time to see him turning. My gosh, is that the clouds parting, and the sun shining down on my @$$? Holy ballz, I need to make this pass count. Get within 500m, and let it rip. One cooked Pancake, and the capture circle is partially blue! look at the minimap to find the bomber, and there it is, still in the cap circle. Mash to "go!" button and I'm at 1000kph in a shallow dive, eating up the distance - I'm going to catch him well before he exits the cap circle. Hold fire until I'm 450m out, and just hold down the button.
BOOM.
Leave the cap to my bot bomber, who is certain to take it. Head to the middle, where the Spitfire driver is holding his own against a swarm of red LFs and MRFs. Oh, hello, Mr. Vampire. You literally did NOT see that coming. Another cap. Uh-oh, Mr. Pancake is mad, and he's coming to see me. Well, it worked before, will it work again? Point the nose to the zenith, and mash down on the boost juice consumable. That runs out, and I hold that w key down, and just burn it all up. Yup, he's going to try and follow me, again. This time, I wait to stall out, and we stall out at about the same time, and it takes me about five seconds to get into range - wait one, fire. Looks like I got the batter of that Pancake again. Stick around to help Mr. Spitfire with a couple of MRF, then see Mr. Ju-288C has been doing work at the mining plant, and needs a 4x30mm lesson. Ah, crud, here is the Vampire, and I'm mostly out of boost juice. Aim the nose at the ground and outpace him, staying just out of cannon range, building range and boost juice. Get the consumable back, and use it to gain back the altitude I lost - and lo! and behold! The Ju-288C just ready to receive what I have to give. Reinforced bolt carriers gave me burst length that was *just* long enough to get the job done - with a little help from a fire. Since the battle was well in hand, I decided to do a head-on pass with the Vampire, since I had a little under 2000m to work with. Not much boost in reserve, but what the heck. Turned over in a half-loop, and headed his way. Ooops, he was watching me and not my Spitfire team mate. This one is all yours, buddy. I'll head back to the military base. Battle ended in a lopsided victory, but it is one which I wish I had recorded. I was SO SURE we were going to lose, because of their overall speed advantage. But the IL-20 was a stellar ground pounder - he got nearly 20k PP - and the Spit kept the middle in our hands. I wasted a lot of time flying around and killing bombers and GAA, and collecting a short stack in the kill column. But I was flying the plane to its strengths, using all the tools I could to get the job done. And those 30s were hitting, and hitting well. The Me-262 was one of the planes that I aspired to when I first got in the game, and while it can be a chore to fly some days, other days it just all comes together. I think it is still my most-flown plane. I frankly don't know how that happened, other than it and I seem to get along, and it is just a joy to fly. If for no other reason than it is a rocket ship, and has big, mutha-effin' guns.

@Corvus: LURV dat burd!!
Today was a repeat of yesterday, but mostly Flighted. First run at Tier X with Eugenio was a laugher, but then the Gods took vengeance, and put Kaim Invictus on the red team. Twice. Then it got WORSE. We had Prenzlau and memray Flighted in red. That was enough to break Eugenio, but it also got my Big Bird to Spec. Ran into RAP_01 first game out in the Tempest, and suggested afterwards that we'd do less damage to each other if Flighted. We had a pretty decent run for the better part of two hours, selfish flying for damage rather than wins, but we still did ok. Finished with a win each in FG2 and Me 262 HGII, and had time for one more. Took the XF-77 out for a spin, Winged Legend on the dot, 14 kills and an Akamatsu. That is such a fun little plane. Tomorrow I've got roughly 25K damage left to do in the Tempest.

Not quite 2 hours of afternoon grinding - no boosters, just grinding some of my current grinds. Lots of people spamming Specialist planes today, so it was pretty brutal.
