My last flight of the day was the one worth mentioning, since it was in *drumroll* the Me-109 G. (new bird!)

I spent several hours in Period 1 dealing with a 10 token HF/MR mission, saw multiple newbies with single digit hours in game, and some decent results by newbies with several dozen hours in.  Did one game downtiered getting hammered in the Corsair-4, then flew the Friedrich, as I was only about 8k short of unlocking the Gustav.  Had a win with almost as many assists as kills, then facing a Flight of Clan brothers (loss, but a tough fight) and then one of OWSS' best in red and I flew like a muppet.  Next game, both Flight and solo were in blue!  (o loz, the roflstomp that one was, and I came in #2 out of the mess!)  Another downtiered loss, then a solid game vs allbots to unlock the next Me-109.

The test flight was solid, it was nice to hear the CHUNK CHUNK of 30mike shells landing instead of spray&pray with the 20s.

AR-65.  What a joy when you are slummin', daily'in, whatever.  Helps when you know what you are doing.  Also a good plane to meet new pilots in, help them, giv'em grats when they do well, and generally uplift while discussin' plane attributes.

I'm one of the good ones.

flew the c-6 against a downtiered flighted pair of excellent pilots in Blenheims today      memorable!       they tried their best, but their best wasn't good enough

they were really coordinating, but they couldn't counter me...    but it was close-ish at the end            i couldn't believe that i picked the perfect plane

Flying IL-20 every night for the weekly crate progress.  I got the 23mm tailgun and 3 point tailgunner critical hit skill before tonight's battle, and used them well. Top engine is the last upgrade I need.

I finally bought the I-180-3.  Unfortunately my first battle I was paired with an F4F, against Spec'd pair of Bf-109E and Spitfire.  :/   Since the battle was hopeless I tried to stick to killing the bots at the edges for XP.  Manouverability is its best stat so I mounted lightweight wing and engine modules, but it rolls so fast I have trouble controlling it.

3 bomber games last night:

Ju 88A - Flying in lower end of my yellow altitude, took command center and then enemy airfield. Then spent the rest of the battle at low altitude, out turning and dodging a human Me410 that had the hots for me. Win and no deaths. Unlocked the Do217M. Strange last battle.

Do 217M - First battle, game crashed. Entered late, just in time to see final 50 HP blasted off my plane. Enemy had central military base. I capped it in one pass with a little help from team then off to chip away at enemy airbase. Pleasantly surprised plane can outpace ADA beaufighters at 2500M, so kinda bombing with impunity when top tier and paying attention. Enemy bot Beaufighter couldn't keep up either. Just 1 battle in, but bombs and airspeed seem more effective tier-for-tier than Ju88A.

Pe-2 M-82 - Hopping between 2 mining plants at about 1000 meters. Able to hold both at once for long enough for runaway win.

Done grinding, now playing favorites:

XP-50, Beaufighter V, Mosquito 26, Beaufighter, P-38J, Bf110E, P-38F, F4U-1, P-47B, Ki-88, IL-1, Bf109B, Bf110B, Blenheim F, Mustang 1A, SE100, XF4U-1, Yak-3RD, A6M3 exp, XP-55, Spitfire V DB, IL-2 mod, A-26B, Me329, IL-20, IL-2, Pe-2 M-82, Do217M, Bf109Z, Ki-93, Ki-84, Vampire, XP-58, P.1056, Tempest, La-9, Me209A

Flying for my free hangar slot tonight:  Mostly flew planes I needed to grind, but didn't run boosters so I only broke even on credits.

IL-20 - My bots were too good so I barely had anything to shoot at because the battle ended so fast.  :/

I-180-3 - I camped the central airfield and chased the winged enemy icons FTW.

Ki-93 - Haven't flown in a while.  Got my butt kicked by the enemy Ki-102 and Spitfire, of course.  Still got a Predator, for what it's worth.

Hornet - Terrible plane.  That's my story, and I'm sticking to it.

F7F - A much better heavy.  Flying high, flying low, flying like a crazed man.  Winged Legend.

F-84B - Flying wild on the deck at the central airfield, dogfighting and launching rockets.  Battle was won by the time my recklessness caught up to me just after squall line.

In two battles there was a GAVRA(?) player on my team who just loaded in and didn't play, collecting 1000 points each battle despite scoring zero damage.

Flew three planes today.  The new Stormcrow cuz Spec isn't that far away, for an hour*.  Flew the Me-109B towards Daily Missions for an hour.  Last hour flew the Me-262 HG II towards the same dailies at Period III.  Researched the last module so now making progress towards Spec in that as well.  (Tier IX takes awhile. . . .)

*best result was 13 ground targets.  Worst game was a soothing air tour of Burma.  I helped cap a Military Base right at the start, and I don't think I ever saw an enemy plane for the rest of the game, flying back and forth as the Military Bases captured the entire map.  One thing about flying GAA, you get to see a lot of neat scenery modeled in.

Sunny Sunday Flying Club:

IL-8 - Newly purchased with 90% crew, and a cool metallic camo!  #1 on points in each battle, draw-loss-win.  My first battle in it I did 76k ground damage and 4 chevrons, but alas a draw.

Hs 129 A - More fun than a barrel of ducklings!  I love this plane!  <3 <3 <3  Qualified for Specialist.

Token harvest missions required base xp earned in heavies and multiroles / base xp defending airfields/ top 5 in ADA kills.
so for the low tier harvest i stuck with german heavies and american republic fighters.

Switch out to mid tier and decided to go ham on the airfield mission. I took out the He 110 D-1
She flies like a dream in tier 5. Seriously. it looks and flies just like the Albatross at tier 8. Only instead of shooting 3x MK 103 sniper cannons; I must paper cut you to death with 3x 7.62mm LMG's.
At least i have all this incendiary ammo laying around to use up
In spite of Loading the Gold I still maintain the fact that if i manage to kill you in this thing; it is because You are Bad and You should Feel bad about that.
So after 126 enemy planes killed (the plane is now specialized yay!) and factoring the percentage of bots to humans ... about 69 of you need take some time and figure out why you are Wrong. And Bad.

took a break to focus on the mission to win a hanger slot.
Decided i hadnt played the Fw 190 A-1 in a while. Didnt realize i had pulled some of its equipment onto other planes.
So i clicked on my weekly supply crate and won  ... an Advanced(!) Combined Injection/Boost System (with 15% bonus engine cooldown!)
Choosing not to look a gift horse in the mouth i promptly installed it in the 190 A-1 with a Polished Skin.
Further amplified with ADE and Engine guru 2. + improved mix control to provide acceleration and cruise speed
I call this one the Roller Coaster (of loooove) because it Really encourages going up and down.

How did it work out? Spoiler

Bonus: This build in particular REALLY sets the 190 A-1 apart from the 109 E when it comes to Airspeed. (even the player controlled ones that almost universally mount the best turn builds they can manage)
Which nice because the 109 E is usually defined as ":teethhappy:just as good or flat out better in every way that matters " (to a nub light fighter player:sceptic: )

It was a fun change up. And i got that hanger slot in no time.

Did low tier dailies first, wanted to fly some planes I had not flown in a while, except tier 1.  Flew the ever dependable AR-65. As always, almost no contest.

Jumped into the XP-31 for T2, won it, had loads of fun.  The plane I think has an armament of 4?  Not sure, but I have it spec'd for turning and did well.

Tier 3 I flew 2 planes, first the YP-29.  This MAY be the first time I flew it.  Anyway, had to struggle as I was low tier, but we pulled it through.  GOOD plane in experienced hands.  The 2nd T3 plane was the F3F.  Good guns, good turning, low survivability, and I had to fly into orbit to kill anything.  I could barely breathe trying to hit the Blenheim bomber attacking our CC.  When I could, I flew lowish and did great damage, but the tier 4s coming after my CC were mostly bombers.  We won it, my team did well taking and keeping the airfield and garrison.

T4 was the P-43.  I saw then the pattern, and it makes sense as I do not fly US very much at all.  The last time I flew a 43 was on the EU server, and I remember hating it, but I also remember flying it too low.  I spec'd it out for engine and sites only, and decided I was going to stay high unless I could dive and get back up.  I killed heavies, bombers, dove low for a few boomerangs and dive bombing runs (fun!), stayed high lots because I was again low tier.  Won it, had to really do strategy as the reds started out kicking our bums. Happy_Chef{USMIL) on the other side flew his SE 100 perfectly, for freaking 17 kills and a deserved HERO OF THE SKY. We talked afterwards about his plane.

WBB

BamBaLam: Jumped in MY SE 100, don't fly it lots.  Did OK, we won, but Panzerkunst had to carry in his 109F, I think it was.

My weekly crate progress plane is....

IL-8 - My first 5 battles in this plane were really productive, then I hit a bad slide in the beginning of this week.  Got a Lang tonight.  I'd get it printed and framed, but framing shops charge nosebleed prices, which is money I'd rather spend on consumables and upgrades...  I still don't have the 45s or the upgraded turret yet.

The trick here is to never let the Wurger get the drop on you.  If there is a human-controlled A1 in the game, I will keep my head on a swivel.  The Emil easily bests the A-1, BUT - you have to see it first, and do the Emil stuff so that the Wurger cannot do the Wurger stuff.

IOW, you do to the Wurger the same thing you do to the Shitfire, except different.  :)

I get what your saying. Now.

But honestly it was reading threads like this that had me pulling out my hair while i was still trying to figure out the line a year or so ago.

It appears to be a message that uses some kind of English ... :sceptic:
but those words are just gibberish that was tossed in a blender and then poured out on my screen.

In other news I was flying my Thuds today.
Finally purchased the 47N at tier 7. Everything but the engines are previously researched. woot!
Stuffed in an Improved gunsight, improved german uprated engine and my old 47B pilot now retrained to 90% for the 47N.
But a stock engine module is a stock engine module. So throwing all the  bombs and rockets on makes you soooo slow.
Grinding out these engine modules is going to be work.  :(

Moved my P-35 pilot to the 47B. And stuffed a new pilot into the P-35.
To get those pilots up to 100% efficiency i got to spend alot of credits and flew about for 10k exp in all of the planes mentioned. Which wnt by pretty fast. all things being equal. But then I like the thuds. Hunt heavies that cant escape. bomb ground targets that cant dodge run away from everything else ... relaxingly simple to grock.

I flew the Mosquito for maybe the fifth or sixth time today, and I'm impressed!

I love that it tucks the two bombs away inside for no speed penalty, but because they're not hanging outside for me to notice, I often forget to drop them, so that's a thing.

Seems like an easy thing to remember, but I'm the guy who forgets to zip up half the time
