Greetings pilots,

It took much time and effort to find out the reasons causing one of the most frustrating issues of the last update — losing control over your aircraft after respawn when using joystick. The problem has been highly prioritized but as you may noticed when playing the game, this issue has not a 100% chance to be reproduced and that significantly has complicated the process of investigating and finding out the ways to fix the bug and strongly affected the time needed for the complex examinations and search for solutions.

We are really thankful to the involved players who responded to the request and sent their log files to the team for them to start the work! It made the process smoother and mush easier than it might be without your help.

According to the latest information received, the alleged fix of the issue is being tested by the team to make sure it works. If this solution resolves the joystick issue the fix will be implemented when it is ready for release.

We apologize for the inconvenience caused. As soon as the issue is fixed we will receive the list of the affected players and then we will discuss the possibility, amount and timing of compensation for the inconvenience.

Stay tuned and good hunting!

UPD

Pilots!

Although the core reasons causing the issue were identified, the preparation of the fix is still in process. According to the latest news the team has tested about 4 different possible solutions for this problem none of which worked for 100% leaving the possibility of this problem to still appear in some cases. At the moment team postponed the release of the latest variant of the fix to properly test it. Today the team plans to hold a special test on the ST server.

Thank you for being highly involved!

UPD

The work on the joystick issue has been finished. We are happy to announce that the team have managed to find the solution for this problem. Today we've released a client-side patch, to download it just let the WGC do its work!

We will receive the list of affected players next week, as soon as any decision on compensations is made I will gladly announce it.

Good hunting!

UPD

Greetings pilots,

We apologize for the inconvenience caused by the joystick issue once again! It was a long way and we are really grateful for your staying with us in the sky of World of Warplanes!

The letters with bonus codes as a compensation have been send. Please check your emails.

Good hunting!

UPD

Dear pilots,

Thank you for your feedback and forwarding the details here on forum for once who might be confused how to make use of the compensation. It is really pleasant to see your involvement and help!

As part of the compensation you've received Supply crates. Please note that the first Supply crate opens automatically when you enter the game so the number of Supply crates mentioned in your letter may differ from what you can open by yourselves. The first crate's content is listed in the system message in the bottom right corner of your Hangar when you first enter the game after redeeming your bonus code.

Good hunting!

The frequent lag problems should have some priority.  When they get so bad they affect a bomber, they are real bad.

A few questions I have:

  1. Should have WoWP been released to the public in this way if it is bad?
  2. Why is the game be ruined by bad QA process?
  3. Are the ST doing their jobs?
  4. Should WG used NA super testers in lieu of RU ST's for better QA?

I wonder, ergo the questions.

I would like to know the secret to 'the issue has not a 100% chance to be reproduced'.  Then I could play, too.

True look at Grenoli's numbers on how many battles on the RU WoWP forums. It  is <1,000. I recalled a previous former Head Developer had >10,000 game in the first year when WoWP went lived and that was interfacing with the WoWP community too.

These new people. Aach!

How can they not recreate the problem? I played 3 games and had dead stick in 2 of them. Sounds like they still aren't using a joystick themselves. That was yesterday.

How did they not notice the problem when testing the patch BEFORE release?

I'm sure developers working hard for 15 (fifteen) days already on the solution. They are thinking about it every minute, even when asleep.

How a plane game can survive with this horrendous bug?

I hope everyone affected will get 1000000 (one million) of gold, xf-85, xf-15C fighters and all new British multiroles.

At least that is the most direct reply I have seen mentioning problem is known and "prioritized" and possibly some compensation is possible?

Of course I have no idea how they would figure who was affected by the bug. Personally I think it should be a game wide compensation for anyone who has logged and flown since the bug has been.

I have seen many posts by those who don't even use a joystick, mention their support and pain from the same bug.

The problem does appear to be quite random however, a few things I have noticed when it is more apparent:

After flying the same plane for several battles consecutively. (5+)

Closer to when the squall line is announced.

Close battles, 1/2 to 3/4 points. don't recall any in blowouts but also have not noticed as many blowouts as before either.

Can't recall any certain plane being affected more so not plane specific.

I haven't found any way to regain enough control not even throttle using KB or mouse. I can however alt+tab out restart game and most times get back before game end/squall line. Still an average of 30-60 seconds, at the end of a battle....

The only thing you can regain is using Enter to open chat and at the same time move stick forward.

It will let you crash and respawn again with no controls, then you crash again and if there is still no squall line you'll get controls back.

If you still flying you'll see that you'll have very little time to affect outcome of the battle, because there would not be much time left, or the enemy team controls most important bases.

Good news is always welcome.  Looking forward to full fix.  I don't mind m&k, but the stick is where it's at.

blindfold, has WG ever given any thought to automating the log submission process?  Like a key on the Hangar screen that will send a log of the last game played to WG when it is pressed, maybe with a simple box to describe the problem in 50 words or less?  No service request required and no response expected from the player?  You'd probably be drowned in info.  I'd use it.  I've looked at the present arrangement and just said "hells no" and dropped the idea right there and then.

You could instead alt-tab out of the game and kill the game client window, then restart the game when the gamecenter "play" button goes orange again.  (you might need an SSD instead of hard disk to do this fast enough, but insert "here's a nickel kid, get yourself a better computer" comment ;D  )   By the time you're back in the game you'll be flying near/over the central cap and probably lost hit points from AA and bots, but fighting with half your hit points is better than losing an entire sortie to suicide.
