Out of the Gulag, I want to share an existential doubt:

Some (a lot) short minded gamers here use to call me (and others as well)  MEX as an insult.
SO:

1. Should WOWP ignore that allowing these people continue insulting other gamers?

2. Should WOWP consider "MEX" as an insult becoming itself a racist?

Pd:  I have some good friends from Mexico and off couse I don't think it is an insult to be call MEX..

Meanwhile "ENJOY THE SILENCE".

No.  It should not be tolerated.  I am proud to call you friend.  Or as friend as two people can be separated by thousands of miles and by different cultures and languages.  But we are connected by this game.   07, mi amigo!

maybe we need to build a wall around a WoWP NA Hateful Dolt Version

and only allow Hateful Dolts to enter...

if the pilot's good, see, I mean, if he's really..sharp, he can barrel that baby in so low [he spreads his arms like wings and laughs],

you oughtta see it sometime, it's a sight. A big plane like a '52. VRROOM! There's jet exhaust, fryin' chickens in the barnyard.

In my opinion, insulting players should be banned.
I was thinking about prohibiting my kids to play, especially the youngest.
He's only 11 years old, he's obsessed with WW2 airplanes, if he's not playing this game, he's in the library reading about ww2 or looking for ww2 vids on youtube.
He enjoys flying these planes so much, he doesn't really care about winning or strategy, i often see him just admiring the plane models from every angle.
But the rants and insults that players throw at him, it's just ridiculous.
I've instructed both to never answer to such texts, but obviously they will receive them and they can read those messages.

Is there perhaps anyway to disable chat entirely?

To be fair to the other team members, maybe your son should only fly in the training room if all he is doing is admiring planes.  Just because you shouldn't have to deal with getting abusive messages doesn't also mean you can fly your plane around in game just to see it fly.  Kind of reminds me of people that drive slow in the fast lane and don't move over.

Not at all. The admiring happens in the hangar, because we can't use viewing stick anymore in flight since 2.0.
He is actually flying and gets kills in his games, but some people expect better from a guy with a spit or a p-38.

Anyway, is it possible to disable chat entirely?

I thought there was a check box that you can get rid of it, but I am at work right now and would need to look for that setting when I get home.
