Would it be possible to repeal the 2018 Christmas Patch early?  I know it is supposed to go away to that Great Trash Heap in the Sky on the 16th but could we possibly make it the Ghost of Christmas Past sooner than that?

I am not going to make this a long post and lay out all the problems.  There are threads upon threads relating them in detail.  We just need some relief!  Mercy please!  I beg you!

I had to get 2 teeth drilled earlier this week so I'm fine without the candy canes. I hope this new patch to get rid of Christmaspolooza fixes these bugs without more bugs being introduced.  I do need to have Terminexs phone number on hot standby.

No back ups or roll backs ever on patches.

Someone message me when they fix this aberration. It is virtually unplayable in it's present state.
My status is "Senior Airman". Is that because I'm old? :sceptic:

The event will end as planned, on Thursday. So make sure that you have progressed on your marathon route as far as possible :izmena:

However I don't think that turning this event off will fix the joystick issue. The fix is not completely ready yet. If it is ready to be deployed with the next patch it will be surely added, but at the moment the team is still working on it.

So, to be perfectly clear.  The PATCH that gave us this event and these bugs will not clear them up once it is gone?

Unfortunately, this is not how it works. You cannot just remove some content and fix everything. Not only the event was added in the last update but lots of other adjustments and changes, technically it is a new game version which can be fixed by (sorry for repeating) fixing things not by removing.

Might I suggest that instead of deploying the joystick fix with the next patch that it be implemented as a patch all by itself?  I think the issue is serious enough that this is a reasonable request.  All in favour, raise your hand or favourite implement of destruction.

What say, blindfold?

You can but wg chooses not to keep backups so were pretty well screwed on the JS.Cant play and if you get AFK you can get banned.

I guess thats the way to get rid of the players that have problems with a bug they wont admit to.

Thousands spent on this game and if they dont support JS now I'll be giving this account away or selling it if it's legal.

Tried to do a poll to see how many players use js or mouse and keyboard but I think im poll banned as I cant post it so if someone else could that would be great to see how many of us do use joysticks.

Been a month so far for the JS bug,

A month you lost a lot of revenue from those of us that use a JS.

Unreal,just unreal.

I think that the longer it takes to fix it, the more compensation we should get.

Hi blindfold,

Is it not possible to revert in-house to the last version just before the joystick bug showed up, then add changes one at a time until the bug shows up, then release the last bug-free iteration as a patch?

That way you could move forward on the joystick problem while building in the other adjustments and changes you refer to.  This is common practice for anyone with a home computer that has added changes or new software; go back to a version before the problem showed up then add one piece at a time until the problem manifests.

I am well aware that would leave WG in the position of having to rerun events that have expired and so is likely to prove unmanageable because of entanglement but this just strengthens the case for better pre-release testing and the implementation of compartmentalization of certain mechanics of the game, like keeping the control software separated from temporary events.  In effect layer the short-time events on top of a base of control software.  That would point up the sources of the problems using the practice I mentioned in my second paragraph.

You...do...keep previous versions of the game, do you not?

Cheers
