should WOWP reimburse players for lost time, gold and supplies because of this problem? (it would go a long way)

I'm A-gonna say Yes! Something Compensationally Speaking should be done...

Since the December 20th Update I have no doubt that I've experienced the Respawn Joystick Control (RJC) Bug well into the Triple Diget Range.

Sometimes (30% of the time?) I'm able to save the Sortie by Windowing Out to the Desktop, Killing the Game and Restarting (With Clear Cache).

30% of the Time I come back into the Game just in time to Die!

AND 30% of the Time I get back into the Game completely Dead waiting to Respawn Yet Again!

To Sum Up: At Least 60% of the Bloody Time I get the "RJC" Bug it's good for a DOUBLE DEATH!!!!!!!!!!!!

So Now Tell Me how this Couldn't Adversity Effect the BLEEPING Outcome of a Battle!!!

ADD to this the Fact that in at Least 25% of the Total number of games in which the "RJC" Bug strikes it occurs more than Once in a Game!!! Two, Three... The Most I've had in one game was FOUR "RJC" Bugs... We Won This Match... NOT!!!

Suffice it to say the "RJC" Bug REALLY Gits Mah Goat!!!

Okay, I'll get back into my Box now...

While I absolutely agree that this bug, and others, affect us all, I very much doubt they will do anything for us if past history is any guide.

Today I decided to activate some boosters, fool that I am.  Launch a battle, black screen.  Clock is ticking on those boosters I bought.  Get out, relaunch game, BANG, shot down.  And what's this now?  No controls!  Clock on those boosters is still ticking.  Did I mention I BOUGHT them?  Shot down again!  Oh joy, to have controls again.  But Nooooooooo, still no controls.

An entire battle, wasted because of this not-so-good Christmas Patch.  I lost at least 10 minutes of that booster time.  I should mention that I BOUGHT them.

Maybe WoWP developers could assign a new marker like the specialist one that shows a joystick that looks like an upturned middle finger so keyboard and mouse players know just who is serendipitously 'AFK.'

I found a way to quickly crash when the bug bites again and post on the chat that I'm crashing because of the bug ...that way at least they know I'm not just quitting or something.

I always post to comments immediately when I get trampled by the joystick bug, or black screened or whatever else WG fires up my kilt, so the team will not think I've gone AFK or dropped out on purpose (cuz I don't do dat).

So tonight on the first respawn in my first game in my shiny new Tiffy, first flight and...No Controls.  Posted that.

Same game a minute or two later respawned and no HUD!  And the aircraft identifiers disappeared at the same time.  Nuthin'!  So I posted that.

Next game, no gunsight - so I'm trying to survive my first time in tier VII in a Typhoon that is bone stock and then the Yakuza showed up with Ki and Zeros and the rest is just details.

I played two more games and got 4 kills in the last one in my new bird but I'm starting to have a real dislike for the Japanese stuff.  Feels kind OP to me but that might just be me.  Guess I'll just have to buy one myself to get back on an even footing like I did with the Spits.  (What is cooler than a black DB Spitfire? Nothing.)

So what to buy, Ki or Zero?  Light or heavy or MR, no difference to me as long as the dam thing works.  What's the best first time user Japanese plane to buy?  I used to be all about GAA but lately I've become kind of agnostic about what I fly (except bombers, not into that so far) so whatever line develops competently is fine with me.  I'm looking forward to your suggestions.

(Edit:  I am really partial to cannons.  My dream plane is a B-25 with a 57mm and a full complement of 8 forward .50s in it. :izmena:  But a Mossie with a thumper in it will do.)

Oh yeah, in the final game the bots pulled out their bot magic when they were well behind and flipped stuff until they had it in the bag.  Pffft...fog dis, that's enough for today.

I invented two new swear words and shut down the game at battle's end, screw the score, didn't care.

Tomorrow I guess I'll tart up the Typhoon (not cheap) and grind with it a while, see what happens.  Man, tier VII is pretty vicious compared to the lower level stuff but that's to be expected I guess.

Question: Anybody got any advice on how to figure out exactly which plane behind you is the one trying to kill you and where the he!! he just went or is that impossible?  The C key for Dangerous Close Plane or whatever WG calls it does not work.  I've tried to bind the function to a couple of different keys and nada.  Why am I not surprised?  All advice will be gratefully received, so thanks.

K...enough whining.  See y'all tomorrow.

I think you should pursue the Zero line (they have a lot of trouble getting up to where the bombers are).

Okay, I laughed out loud.  Don't worry, fully upgraded, both the Typhoon and Tempest are beasts.  You do have to keep your eyes open for Zeros and Kis, but you can outrun them by so much, it's not funny.  BnZ them to death with 20mm cannon blazing.  I have made many a human Ki or Zero pilot very sad by lighting them on fire, then ramming them to death.  Or pull up sharp, make them overshoot, then flame their delicate tail feathers.  I love both airplanes.  I almost love the Typhoon equally to my Dora.  Almost.

Mmmmmm, tactics.  Thanks Corvus, I'll try these out because I can never figure out where the b'stards have gone to go when they break off so I turn fight and too often it's Japanese, so it's Blooey for me.

In the ILs' turrets it's not a problem but in anything else my situational awareness sucks rocks.   Trolling while sitting in the turret is fun.

Tier VII and up is a dog-eat-dog world and I'm wearing steak underwear.

I'm currently working on a tactic Reitousair quite properly described a while ago as quite difficult to do right but which is very effective, namely the horizontal BnZ.   A fast plane is required, obviously but it seems like it might be worth keeping in my offensive tactics file since I've had some little success with it.  Got to keep polishing that Tiffy, I guess.

On offense, I've consciously taken to using the tactics of our best Canadian Spitfire ace of WWII, George Buerling.

He was an exceptional flyer and his favourite tactic was to get so tight on the enemy's six that all he had to was pull the trigger and they went down.  He was an exceptional deflection shooter too. His squadron leader took his plane up one day then landed it and complained to his ground crew that the guns were not harmonized at all.  His crew responded that it didn't make any difference because Buerling was often able to outfly his opponent and was well inside his guns' harmonization point when he opened fire!  He was also busted more than once for doing aerobatics over the airfield at zero feet.  He wound up flying Spits on Malta where one of his nicknames was the Falcon of Malta, among others.  He had 28 confirmed kills.   If you're interested, check this out:

https://warfarehisto...alcon-of-malta/

Being a loner myself, I identify with him.

I don't know if that six o'clock tactic has a name but I've tried it in my I-16 (l.) and also now in the A6M3 which I've started using in earnest on the advice of Captain_Underpants (thanks again, Cap).  You need reflexes like a rattlesnake on crack, but it sure works.  My I-16's set-up is so tight it's easy to barrel roll it twice by accident.  It's really twitchy but you can take advantage of an unbalanced airplane.

I set up all my birds for maximum aerobatic ability, including the GAA and it has proven effective.  No fighter cover for the GAAs means I often have to fight for the turf before I can attack it and it's not unusual to have as many air kills as ground targets destroyed after a battle.

I checked my stats and it turns out I'm now flying more fighter hours than GAAs, so I gotta change my sig line, I guess.

Thanks for the advice, Corvus.  I'll try that induced overshoot tactic.  I should probably bone up on serious fighter tactics now as well.

I'm rambling so I'll stop here.
