the hg 3 is so expensive...  i'll be stuck right here for a while, but it's certainly a glorious 'stuck'

1092 prints money too, but nothing anywhere near this monster's haul, for me

i used to fear downtiering in the T9 1092, but i've flown against human T10s in the hg 2... and contributed

Yeah, the HGII is outclassed by some of the speedy folks at T10, but you *can* get the drop on them, if you are smart.

The HGIII really only needs to be worried about the XF-90, Javelin, or another HGIII. It can outrun everything else if it's in a good energy state & plenty of boost. I got into a duel with a Javelin & he could out turn me easily so all I could do was try to get the jump if he was distracted or go head on and pray.

The T8 30's range of 616m is ok, T9 700m is still ok, but at T10 700m can be limiting with everything moving so fast and most other planes get 800m+. I wish it had rockets to compensate for the shorter range but oh well. It's great for boosting up to bombers then diving down for GA's but attacking single fighters not so much. <o

Just get the III man. Grind it out, do what it takes, then go fly the other stuff.

I ask, because I had planned to stop at T9 with my HGII.  But flying the other day, downtiered against to Yak-30s, I couldn't help but think that if I have to fight against T10 planes, I want to have T10 speed.  The Yaks can no way match how bloody fast the HGIII is, even if it has the turning radius of an ocean liner.  Plus those IL-40s and -40Ps just about melt away under the 4x30mm cannon of the HGIII.

The downside is that I will have to fly the HGII repeatedly - maybe as many as 100 battles - to get enough XP to move up to the HGIII.  Probably more like 40-50 battles, but still - that's a couple of months of playing for me (I tend to fly all the aircraft in my hangar, and I have quite a few aircraft.  Focusing on one aircraft would make me sad.)

If I flew it non-stop, I might be able to grind it in a couple of weeks.

What say the Experten?

I have 30K battles before 2.0 and like you trying to get all the planes.

I just recently was able to start on the tier 9 Me262 HG after 1000 battles in 2.0 ( 20 battles so far )

What took me so long was building up the free experience from playing planes I really like to play

and occasionally flying the planes I am learning to fly in.

The learning to fly a plane often times is frustrating and de-motivational with the constant losses.

Which in turn leaves me struggling to achieve all tier 10's across the board.

i'm more productive in the hg ll than i am in the hg lll, for some reason

but really not very much productivity in either, because i can't seem to fly it correctly

and i get suckered into dogfights, and ten seconds later, i'm sitting in the respawn queue       because i'm flying it wrong, over and over

there's just such a small error buffer in T10      poor pilots driving strong planes can survive, even prosper in mids, but high tiers heavies quickly exposed me as a fraud

in other news... i had my first ever excellent battle in my p-38J this weekend, so i promptly flagged it as a 'favorite'

it's just inconceivable to me that i wouldn't be as instantly proficient in the J as i am in the F, since the F's been an all-time fav

the F did take me a little while to dial in, but the J is just an F with bigger engines, ffs

It took me much less time than I thought.  From the time I started flying the HGII to the time I got enough XP for the HGIII, I also got enough of the specialization stuff to specialize the HGII.  My gripe about flying the HGII is that so much of the time, I am downtiered in it, and it has a rough time against a competent human in a Javelin or XF-90.

The HGIII is magical, but if I am flying T10 alone, I want my P.1101.  OTOH, when I start escorting T10 bombers (bomber pilots, take note), I *will* be flying a specialized HGIII.  It just CRUSHES at high altitude, and when I use it as a bomber escort, they run around the map taking caps, and I follow them making sure that humans and bots don't prevent them from taking caps.  :)

T10 bombers are just my style.  :)
