I saw this yesterday and thought it was interesting.

It looks like the bot P.1056 is swerving to avoid the rocket but it could be a visual coincidence.

What do you think?

I'm pretty sure these 2 objects are programmed not to collide or share the same space in the matrix.

I guess this is one way to avoid that.

Has anyone seen a ballistic rocket hit a bot or human player, or been hit by one?

I've heard rumors that the Military Base rocket can indeed hit and kill planes mid-air, but I've personally never seen it nor am I in a hurry to test it out either. I do know from experience that the explosion harms nearby planes :amazed:

I have fired my guns at passing by rockets many times, but it seems like the system never registers a hit.  I would guess that only the explosion can hurt a plane.

Some one mentioned it this last summer, IIRC.  I have been killed in a GAA by military base rocket splash damage.

Hmm, maybe they have no hard contact attributes, like a cloud or bird, while in flight.

Interesting.

believable also from my experience

if the pilot's good, see, I mean, if he's really..sharp, he can barrel that baby in so low [he spreads his arms like wings and laughs],

you oughtta see it sometime, it's a sight. A big plane like a '52. VRROOM! There's jet exhaust, fryin' chickens in the barnyard.

happened to me as well.  RIP P-40 M-105, wasn't far enough away from a flak gun when the rocket landed.

Was it a friendly rocket or a hostile one? It could be that you can only be hit by hostile rockets, kinda how a plane can't be directly hit by its own ordnance (aka, the rocket/bomb itself)

I remember getting blown up by my own B-32.  And you can take blast damage from your own bombs and rockets.
