Complete the sentence...

I don't fly spitfires any more, because they're an "easy button" plane.

...because the only Spitfire I have is a premium so it doesn't need grinding.

Because I like the challenges the other planes provide.  I fly the Ia, the V IM and the V DB605 every now and then.  But really, not very often.

I have a need for speed.

But a truce to this mournful story

For death is a distant friend

So here's to a life of glory

And a laurel to crown each end

Ill never understand the cool thing to knock a certain plane.  Fly what you like, every plane has a counter they all die just as easy.

If you had stopped at "All planes have a counter" you would have my upvote.

The second part of your sentence is incorrect.  Some planes just don't die easy.  Ask my IL-8, my IL-40s, my B-32, my Beaufighter, or any number of high HP-pool pixel planes.  Some planes are just a cast iron female-dog-in-heat to shoot down.

Others, like the Spit, are overused by the general population and there are many who like the challenge of playing against the current meta.  Personally, I will play the Spits from time to time, but do find myself shying away from them since they are ubiquitous in the current meta.

The "Easy Button" comes from commercials from Staples (the office supply store) where they advertised that getting anything you need for your office was like hitting the "easy button".   They even gave out easy buttons as shown below.  So the whole point is that jumping into a Spit to play the game is like hitting the Staples easy button.

Every time I fly my Spitfire, I understand why people say they are easy to do well with. If you've had a bad day and need a good game, just fire it up and go. But it isn't very interesting to play, compared to others.

I stopped flying spitfires, because....I was busy in Ships......

WoWP makes a great jousting game...especially with the 262 and people busy in furballs...
I am deaf, silent, and fly with unrealistic controls. Do not count on me to carry - my back's already broken from overweight.

... because it gets very boring with all those Spits.

I like a challenge and about every other plane is more of a a challenge than a Spit.

I stopped flying the Spit 1 and V because I mainly fly high tier... Won't ever give up my 7 specialized spits though (or my hurricanes which have kinda sucked since 2.0.7) They're what I crew up hearing about while spending summers with grandparents (well, them and the link trainer for instrument flying instruction).

2 observations though...
1. Spits may be "easy mode" for experienced pilots :hiding: but they're not an I win button... The number of times I've killed people in them using objectively worse or more difficult to use planes (like a hurricane 1) is astounding... Some brainpower is still required... :amazed:...

2. because t4 has basically become an appendage to t5 with the matchmaking changes, the Spit 1 has really become cancerous for the game. 90% of the time you're against t5s in a t4 and 90% of those games feature at least 1 spit that can... okay... or rather should be able to just feast on the enemy team. I'll fly my spit 1a once most days to get the daily double on the special dunkirk pilot, but I just haven't played my spit 1 since the matchmaking changes. Every time I think about it, I think back to all those t4 battles I've been forced to fly to do the low tier missions, wince, and move on.
