Based on the model number and description the top gun ( 57mm Ho-401© ) on the Ki-102 is the stock gun on the Ki-93 so shouldn't it be unlocked/researched if I have the Ki-93?

good question.  trying asking blindfold to bring it to the attention of wg.  seems like a bug

There are some weird guns in WOWP. For example, if I remember correctly, the gun for BV.215. XX (the tier 10 one) is exactly the same name as the one for Me P.1101 (20mm MG213/20 or something), but they are NOT interchangeable for some reason.

Also the stock gun of Ki-93 is unlocked when you have Ki-93, regardless of the research status of the gun itself.

Same thing with the Soviet bombers, bunch of engines, guns & I think bombs should have been unlocked from planes already on the Tree.
C'est magnifique, mais ce n'est pas le SerB.

Hi. At the moment all modules (even they have the same name) need to be researched separately for each and every aircraft. That is why situations like this may appear.

Not true, several engines and guns carry over to later planes if they are already researched.

In this case it is not for later plane but for prior one. See, having received a Tier VII plane for Op Order you may have no Tier VI plane. Thus, you will have a module (let's say a gun) in the stock configuration for Tier VII but you won't have this gun for Tier VI because it is a top gun for that Tier VI and it needs to be researched.

While you do have to get ShVAK's to research the I-220 (and the La-5 gets them stock like the La-7) these guns are compatible with each other. Meanwhile the Ki-102's gun is NOT compatible with the Ki-93.

Exactly. This is an error on WG's part, and should be fixed either by rewarding the players (LOL) or changing the description.

The same thing happened with the engines on the RU bombers...

Just another case of the devs taking the lazy path that annoys people, instead of putting in a bit more effort on the project... and the public relations.   :sceptic:

to put this mildly, that’s stupid.

Since that is the module on the Ki-102 that unlocks the Ki-93, I agree it should have been researched as part of the package. Especially since it was earned and not just a gimme!

Kinda like getting a new car with a killer stereo and junk speakers, you want to upgrade the speakers but the stock ones won't work with your old ride...:B

I don't know if any of you noticed this, they aren't the same gun... yes they are both 57 mm, but they are clearly labelled differently.... Ho-401 on the Ki-102 and Ho-402 on the Ki-93. They also have some very different stats, 90 RPM vs 45, 520 Meters range vs 1050.... that is all

Nope, you should compare the top (upgraded) gun on the Ki-102 with the starting gun on the Ki-93. both are 57 mm Ho-401 © ...
