I shall use my aircraft and my skill to slightly inconvenience mine enemies.

that's good cause wait times in Ship Co-Op is 30sec or less.
And as far as FUN goes, here is a extract from a recent WoWS Survey:
What is most important for you in online games?
Please choose between 1 and 3 answer options.
To dive into settings (for example: military, historic, medieval, space, etc.)

To get completely immersed in the game and forgetting about reality
Man, I still remember when I played this game and my palms would get sweaty and my heart rate would go up. That was back in the PvP days when you didn't want to let your team down.
Those types of battles are few and far between now. Nowadays, it's just a stress reliever. Even though I am potato level bad, it did me good to shoot down a good player and then win the battle.
Now, you shoot the same gosh darned bot 4 times and there is little satisfaction in that.
Yet, I keep playing. Who do I see about this?

Sir Tableau, I empathize....
When I want to relax and blow sh__t up, I go to Ships Co-op. Very relaxing, lots of time to shoot n strategize, but overall- relaxing.
when I wanted SKILL development, adrenaline rush, sheer flying dynamite- Planes PvP was the SHIZZLE!!! as you rightly point out!
Now, when I want a colonoscopy or tooth pulled, and need to be anesthetised, I turn to Planes, and hope for a BALANCED battle, which, given the RNG, happens periodically, but not as often as it OUGHT. It is truly more and more frustrating. So I keep a 2x4 handy:
To see if I still feel
I focus on the pain
The only thing that's real..."

I wish. My stress level just rises when I see the miss-matched mess that matchmaker comes up with in 4 out of 5 battles.
Yet ... (when you find someone, let me know)

Thank goodness Wargaming has decided to decentralize the flow and storage of inforamtion so that it is literally available in the smallest of nooks and cranies. Found this while seaching for something else, the ol'- "see where your hand is?... NOT there."

Matchmaker
- In the Conquest and Attrition modes, the maximum number of aircraft belonging to the PvE-class (bombers and attack aircraft) was reduced to 4 per team.
- In the Invasion and Escort modes, the maximum number of aircraft belonging to the PvE-class (bombers and attack aircraft) has been reduced to 5 for the attacking team.
- Added separate matchmaker settings for new players. If the players earned less than 4,000 XP in the game, they will get into battles, where the entire enemy team consists of Bots.
I don't remember seeing the Patch Notes for that one. Soooo, if a player earns less than 4000XP in one game, are they then labeled "NEW" and for how long? Or does MM also utilize some additional criteria in the algorithm, say Date Registered? for example.

That actually makes sense. I have had some really potato battles where the first decision I made was terrible, then went completely south. Like flying a new, stock plane that I have no idea what it can/will do. After potatoing up the skies, the game will throw me into an all-bot match. I always thought it was luck - I can now concentrate on how to get this beast to work, not trying to support a human team mate. But alas, no luck involved. Just Russian Number Generator at work...
If my experience is an indicator, it lasts for just one battle. But maybe if you potato after potato, you get all-bot matches? I should perform an experiment...

The allegation that WG gives us all the development info is about as stupid an opinion as has been shared on the forums. And there have been PLENTY of stupid opinions!

Well that's two of us so it isn't just you. Actually, I kinda enjoy them, just me and 23 bots with no red overamped flighted stooges trampling everything in their path. And it's nice to be able to direct at least some of the bots. I think I've had maybe one loss in about fifteen of them.
