Just wondering why no-one uses the comm system (Z key) provided by the game.  Is it that bad?

I'm fully aware of Discord, but why not use the game system?  I leave it on all the time but nary a word.

Why?

you have to be in a flight with someone else who has it turned on and you will only be able to talk to each other.  I think it works great. its a lot easier than typing

Thanks, Greg.  That explains the silence.

How the dickens do you flight up with someone similarly equipped?  If I click on "Play in Flight" next to the beeg orange button it starts an automatic 15 sec. count while it looks for prospective "partners."  No way to tell if they have mikes or not and there doesn't seem to be anyone there anyway.  That aside, I almost invariably play solo being a GA guy mainly, but I am curious about the mechanics of teaming up with someone for a single battle once in a while.  It would be a gas to trash a cap in company with another IL-2.  I have three of them at the moment, plus a couple of other makes.

Is there such a thing as a clan that is exclusively GA?
