I have only done 2 planes since this feature came out in 2.05, it really pissed me off at the time, but I decided to give it another go.

I spent a million credits and all my parts previously getting one plane to ultimate equipment, ouch,

enhancing first and then I calibrated the final ultimate accessories.

I gave each ultimate accessory a maximum of 10 calibration rolls,

10 rolls and the highest on power unit was 406!!

10 rolls on polished skin was 444,

10 rolls on sight was 426.

disappointing for sure, I wasn't willing to spend any more.

Question; do you enhance and calibrate each piece of equipment through stock, advanced, ultimate? does that give you a higher total at the end?

or do you enhance 3 times then calibrate like I had done?

What are you Veterans of this doing? Thanks!

I have always enhanced first. Unless the grind is going to be long to specialize than you may be better off enhancing to advanced and than calibrating to maximize your equipment.

Aside from that i generally just enhance until advanced. Specialize acft than enhance to ultimate than calibrate.

The rng is atrocious so be ready for the long haul and do not give up.

i 'went to the casino' on day one of 2.05, and i've never calibrated anything since

my strict religion prohibits me from gambling on digital airplane parts

that's pretty specific, i know, but what can i do about it?

The answer is that you enhance until you reach Ultimate, then calibrate.  So far, I have calibrated enough to know that unless I have a ton of parts to throw away, it's not worth the effort for the small, marginal gains.

Using your brain in-battle is the best form of equipment buff there is.

Strategy goes a long way in any game for sure.

This might help the Padawans who want to learn the ways of the force. When calibrating, take your mouse pointer and point it about 1-2 cm ahead (in the positive direction) of the point (you are at on the linear line), and when the positive swing occurs toward your mouse pointer, click and repeat but don't over click too much. Does this work every time, nope. Does this seem to have some sort of weird positive effect, yes. You should get more positive results than negative. The pointer needs to be "on the line, but in front of the positive swing". If you are as magical as I am, you should see some difference. It might take some of the pain away.

Hmm, this sounds lot like "mash 'A' after you throw a Poke ball" legend from the Pokemon series. Doesn't actually do anything, but it does make attempts feel more satisfying to perform.

What if I enhance to stock and calibrate it up to say 140 with lucky rolls,

then enhance to the next level and calibrate again,

does it carry the '140' up so your next calibration starts there?

conceivably by ultimate you could actually reach the highest rating at 480?

Your calibration at improved level won't be 240, however it will be slightly larger than the base 200 Tech Level, probably around 236.

Even at maximum calibration on advanced (380) you'll only end up at around 430-440ish when you upgrade to ultimate. However I think the costs to enhance are reduced considerably, problem comes you have to get lucky before calibrating before enhancing starts to become a drain on resources.
