It flies a lot like a Bf-109B.  Slower, with better guns.

LOL.  I didn't even realize I was working for it until, plop, there it was!  I looked around guilty like and snuck it into a locked hangar.

:great:

It's just something that went AWOL for like 4-5 years............:sceptic:

WoWP makes a great jousting game...especially with the 262 and people busy in furballs...
I am deaf, silent, and fly with unrealistic controls. Do not count on me to carry - my back's already broken from overweight.

Not sure if the 23mm guns actually cause damage but over all the plane is most capable.

When they land, they do decent damage.  When they land.  :)

I don't see them land quite often.

Landing OK for me :)

Like other mixed MG/Cannon armed planes you gotta have controls setup for a split MG only option to keep shooting while the cannon cool down.

Feels roughly like Spitfire shooting, like a multi-critted Spitfire at turning though...

C'est magnifique, mais ce n'est pas le SerB.

How come ? They've a decent rate-of-fire ...

Haven't flown it yet ; was flying USSR only for the pers. ratings event (and grinding some Soviet planes I really wanted Specialist) but looking forward to take it to battle first oppportunity ;-)

Don't know,
stat-wise it should be a beast, but i don't feel it when i'm flying it.
I thought it would be great as a bomber/HF/GAA hunter, but it takes ages to take one of these down.

I can't unbind the primary and secondary gun keys (not enough buttons available on controller)
but until now that has never been a problem, i shoot in burst when i have cannons as armament.
I've never had these kind of  problems with other T.IV-T.V cannon armed fighters.
I have the T.IV LaGG3 which i fly regarly and i really love to fly, I have the airabonita, the Bf-109E3, the Yak-9... All cannon armed fighters.
I have flown a couple of battles now with the XP-36F and it really feels like those cannons never hit, not even when i'm flying in a straight line trying to take down ADA HF's. I mean with those stats this plane should shred an Ao192 ADA instantly to pieces, but it just doesn't.
The couple times i took it out in the air, i have more trouble shooting down any plane with it, than with any other T4 or T5 i own.
So far i like the tech tree P-36 a lot better...

I'm not a fighter player, but I enjoyed a couple rounds in it after I got it. It's a nice nippy little plane, not terribly maneuverable, but not a complete dog, and the cannons are nice but slower firing. Interesting history behind the Madsen cannons, actually. The U.S. military put them through trials in the late 30s, but they found them lacking due to their low rate of fire and their tendency to jam, but they were quite compact and had a potent round. The British trialed them as well but found them wanting, and finally the French tried a retooled version with improved feeds that worked much better, but Madsen couldn't convince any of the major powers to adopt them. I often wondered if the U.S. would have been willing to let Madsen trial their improved versions and mounted them to their P-40s and other fighters. That would have been pretty sweet.
