B-17's and the last bomber to carry out an attack of WWII the B-32. (A few days after actually).

So looking forward to it. I just hope they will fire on a plane from multiple positions.  I think the game is capped at one.

I do hope they bring in more bombers from the different nationalities.

I can confirm that my Heinkel's gunners will fire at multiple targets at once and all bombers and even GAAs with them can have multiple guns firing at a single target, so the American Heavies should be no different.

eekeeboo, the EU CM was teasing us about this on Discord last night.

Apparently one of the planes at least (probably the B-32) has a 2x20x500lb bombload. So two sticks of 20 (I misunderstood what he was saying initially) 500lb bombs being its top bombload with two bombloads to research - an "intermediate" load of 1x20x500lb with a 60s cooldown and a "Top" load 2x20x500lb.

He also confirmed the ability of the gunners to fire at multiple targets simultaneously.

That's good.  That will make formation flying more relevant.

well thats definitely gonna change how bombers bomb.
One pass for one half of the zone
one pass for the other half.

and that's it leave and go get the next cap.

with RNG determining whatever buildings are still standing for GAA to focus on.
btw if you drop em 20 at a time how soon before you flip the cap anyway because an ADA flew into one of the bombs

Aaand last but not least ...
if you get close enough to shoot at them with light or Heavy machine guns. They can and will shoot back with as many if not more.

so the only "safe" method of engagement will be to get juuuust within effective cannon ranges @ 6-700 m

Soooo many light fighter tears:trollface:

With that said pretty soon we are gonna see more coordinated bomber flights that can flip a cap in one pass. But are therefore required to only attack from certain directions to have efficient bomb drops.

The bombers look like only they are restricted by their time of turning but It could  imagine they are more efficient heading for the next unoccupied sector than turning back finishing the current one so that could explaim the lack of Maneuverability , but i prefer this bombers with more Maneuverability

that’s just stupid, you can start at one end of a sector and drop bombs to the far end, that would be way overpowered.

According to eekeeboo - 60 seconds with single drop, 80 seconds with two drops.

Not sure if that's for the B-17s or the B-32. Probably the latter. 2x20x500lbs seems excessive for a B-17

I've got family history wrapped up in these upcoming bombers on top of the 17 being my all time favorite multi-engined prop aircraft ever.

So bring em on and damn the consequences!
