I agree, after waiting and waiting and waiting for one of my favorite planes, I am very happy. So thank you wargaming! Wow, that seems like an unusual phrase for the forums. :teethhappy:
Maneuverable enough, nice firepower, good speed. It is glorious and exactly what I hoped.

Maybe some day we'll even get a real classy special camo for it... please wargaming?

Vampire?  We need a plane called Holy Water too or I guess I can just use the Big Fudge Pancake on you.

It's pretty for sure.  I was hoping they'd put it in it's own branch.  Maybe they'll put the venom in as a UK MR?

It was a pleasant surprise when it was announced.  It got me too excited.  I still need to spend more time with it to get to know her, but she'll be a fine bird I just know.

"Wooden Stake" doesn't have a great ring to it, but we're def going to need some kind of specialty plane designed to kill Vampires

I'll start calling my I-220 the "vanHellsing" if it makes you feel better.

Just wondering how did you setup your vampire for equipment? I am still debating on how I want to do it seems like there are a few choices.

What are are your thoughts on the Vampire?

Good, Bad or Indifferent?

My reason for asking is that I received the Opp Order for the Vampire this past weekend, and it looks like it will take some Doing to work through the Missions to secure it...

I've seen a few Ingame so far... Some seemed Easy Targets, a couple were Steely Eyed Killers, most were somewhere in between.

My initial and current thoughts are that I Want one.

I've always liked the Vampire IRL, since the first time I saw one back in the early "90's" being restored at a local Flight Museum.

Stats-wise, it's terrifying. 10.3s turn makes it better than the P-80 and equal to the 209A ; not great, but certainly no slouch. Its straightline speed is phenomenal - at 870 its easily the fastest thing at tier 8 in a straight line short of the 262. It's dive speed is pretty decent too and it gets quad 20mms to boot so damage output is good and reliable. About the only thing holding it back is optimal altitude as 1.6km is pretty bad for a tier 8 fighter.

Yes, This is very true. Mine was very good stock, but it's fantastic with ultimate equipment now that it's specialized... :child: I'm so unsure now, this might just have replaced the Spitfire mk. IX as my favorite plane in game... And you've already blown holes in my shiny new baby...

Beyond the low optimum altitude though, the 2800m service ceiling can be a real problem too, especially when you've got human RB17s. That being said, I may have killed one at 3400m when using the boost consumable.

For anyone interested, a cross-sectioned de Havilland Goblin engine, the power plant for the Vampire, and incidentally the originally planned power plant for the P-80.
Spoiler

How many tokens does it take if you want to skip the missions?

You need to buy certificates to skip.

As mentioned, it's certificates not tokens. 7 missions, 86 or 87 certificates each, can't remember. They are doable, although it might take more than a day if you want to do them, 5 tokes for 24h i believe. I skipped two missions and did the rest in a day, a bunch are single battle missions.
