So, I haven't played in ages....for various reasons, mainly due to WG making bad game design decisions and being (sshhh!!!) secrative to a paranoid degree with game info (ie, how many players are queued in what tier -so I know what tier to queue in order to get a match with ACTUAL PEOPLE).

Gripes aside, I bumbled into the forums a few days ago and decided, "Why not, I'll see what's new with the game and how it's playing these days..."

So, I load up, look through some of the new stuff with aircraft mods, and compare a few planes' stats to refresh myself on what does what.

Only to meet with catastrophe:  "you've been discombobulated from the server."  Oh, nooo!  But, I can login and at least not leave my team a man short...riiight?!  Разработчики говорят <<НЕТ>>!  (Developers say, "NO!")

I login, after a few failed attempts due to "failure to reach the login server or incorrect login" (using the correct login and pw).  I hope to jump back into the battle to leave my team not down a human player and am met with this:

GG, WG. You win.  You're still cheating, but you do win.

As an addendum (because the editor is so fiddly, it's impossible for me to add text after posting a message with a pic/vid), the aircraft did NOT return to the hangar until I logged out and back in.  Which, I guess, is an improvement over the old bug where the aircraft would be in limbo until the next "day" or update or whatever that issue was.  Either way, it's not a very welcoming....welcome.    Shame on you WG.

:/

I had a similar issue a few weeks ago caused by a bad hop between my ISP and the Server. I dunno where you stay, but I think my issue was with a hop somewhere in Japan. Not a lot you can do.

On the bright side, you probably didn't leave a team with a man down.

On the not so bright side, there's probably someone cursing about his plane being locked in a phantom battle...

So here's to a life of glory

Yeah, this has been frequently happening to me as well, especially with my IL-20. Not sure why, just luck of the WG Fuckery I guess :)

Or in one case the countdown to get back into the match after being downed stuck, then went to 0, and then showed my plane in battle, but in the same loading screen and I couldn't control it. New patches to this game actually have driven me away until they make a corrective patch to fix the stuff that they just broke - because, WG. WG's D team at that. I stayed away shortly after 2.05 and only returned a day or two ago, and it's pretty much the same thing. Oh well, no sense stressing about it I guess. It is what it is, and clearly there are not enough resources being invested in the game to actually make it solid and reliable. It's the one good thing I could say about WoT...

The game is a joke...still.  The developer is a joke...still.  The reason I quit way back, progression at tier 8+ is COMPLETELY determined by MM and bot ai and not at all by what a player does in a match...still.  Uninstalled and perma quit from WG titles.  I think world of warships works...relatively fine, as a game goes.  While I haven't played that in ages either, I'll uninstall that one too just to make sure I'm not tempted to support a WG title, either in cash or active players.

I admire all of you who can stand to play this garbage and put up with the garbage developer.  They really don't care if the title runs, let alone whether it designed well or not.  This could be a great game.  Maybe I'll come back and try 3.0, if that's a thing, just to see if the developer is capable of learning.

They're incapable of learning from their mistakes now with 2.0 so... Yea no hope with 3.0 there.

I tried it again after a long break and the way the messed with the equipment and consumables is kind of annoying and pretty much turned me right off again.  I take it you need the "specialist" tag or whatever it is to mount some of the stuff. What was wrong with the way it was?  Or maybe I'm reading into it all wrong.

This is remniscent of Wind oze lurching from version to version, screwing up in a new way with each release and ignoring the wrath of the users.  I started there with 3.0 and it was downhill from there.

If they made a biography/documentary between the black cat and World of Warplanes: How it Failed Multiple times, I'd choose to watch the black cat.

Apart from not learning, they're also not listening to their (paying!) customers ; both here and on the EU forum a lot of players complain about the forced Specialist weapon configuration ... when asked about that, the reply is that "there are other changes on the way first" ?!

They just go on inventing new not-asked-for stuff before fixing what people clearly don't like ...

Those are constructive helpful comments.

Or are you only looking for ways to improve on unpopular ideas?
