I got to wondering which of my bombers had the best win percentage.  The game used to track that for you but they decided in their infinite.......wisdom?.............capacity to annoy?         to remove it.  So how to figure it out?

I decided that participation in caps per battle (not sortie) was the best measurement.  And I got a few surprises (but that's what statistics are for, right?)

My RB-17 was by far the leader in caps per battle.  No surprise there.  But second was the Do 217M followed closely by the A-26B.  This was a surprise to me.  I assume speed plays a huge part in this.

My other bombers were all so closely grouped as to be not worth mentioning except for the Ar-2 which had a noticeable drop off.  That also was a surprise.  My 4 USSR bombers only have around 100 battles each but that should be enough to get a statistically significant and valid measurement.

So does anyone know of a better way of tracking win rate?  I don't understand why they removed the ability to see at a glance what each plane was doing.  But then I am but a Lowly Worm...........er, I mean player and not privy to the higher cognitive powers of the devs.

math is not my friend, so i don't know what my best winning plane is

i really don't want to know, because i would then be tempted to fly it exclusively

I don't have access to my in-game stats so I usually just look at my kills per sortie. Which - for planes with over 50 battles - puts my Ta152 on top with 5.2 kills per sortie over 67 battles followed by my A-5 with 5.15 per sortie over 180 battles

My record for planes tier 4 and above is the MiG-9 with a kill-per-sortie rate of 6.86 over 20 battles followed by the Spitfire MkXIV with 5.86 over 33 sorties.

Well, I can see where kills per sortie would be very valid if they came after the squall line.  But somebody could really tear them up and, if they weren't over a base, lose big time.  Why do you say you don't have access to your in game stats?  Those stats you mentioned are just that......stats.

What is an A-5?  A 190?

Tier 6 Fw 190.

WoWP makes a great jousting game...especially with the 262 and people busy in furballs...
I am deaf, silent, and fly with unrealistic controls. Do not count on me to carry - my back's already broken from overweight.

Airabonita and Airacobra for me.
In previous meta it was La-11 and P-40

I average between 2 and 2 1/2 kills per sortie in my favored planes. Yeah i need to get better.

That said I only have 1300~ish battle thus far and i spent a fair amount of that climbing a learning curve.
and having a frame rate drop to 12 from 30 at random; for yet to be determined reasons, doesnt help me at all

Try the bombers.  Much more forgiving, up to a point, of low frame rates.

It sure is nice to know they are working on improving the frame rates SINCE 2,0 CAME OUT!  That is when the real low rates started.

my favorite planes aren't often my top scorers...  don't know why

p-38f is a huge fav, but rarely do i score more than mid-roster battle numbers

Hs 129 is another fav... but again, not a lot of production

109B and E, and the T3 blennie bomber are productive favorites, as is the Hayate...

but i would sell them all off before i had to sell the 38f, if i became destitute

Is that confirmed ?

Colleague of mine is still waiting for better fps to start playing again. He got me playing Wowp in September last year in 1.9 but he dropped out when 2.0 came and his fps went down the drain. Strange thing is that I almost never have problems, playing both EU and NA servers (from the Netherlands).

i'm sure that it's unrelated to your friend's issue, but i was having tons of mini screen freezes in 2.x, for months

not related at all to network issues, but after the freeze 'unfroze', i would see a huge number top left of the screen in the ping display   300-500+ ping

no other games/anything showed any issues

i tried everything network related, and it wasn't showing up on pingplotter...   it was better, but still noticeable, if i shut down and did a thorough defrag each time

so that became my pre-flight checklist for many months...  restart router, restart pc, defrag

then i replaced my HDD, and that was the issue!      evidently, 2.x pulls more from cache? or files? or whatever?

not one hiccup since the new drive was installed

and again, i apologize to my patient flight partners who had to put up with my pc, for all of those dark days

I love my heavy fighters, even though I am not as productive in them as I am in my SpitV DB605.  Or my Yak-3.  Or my Tornado.  In fact, one of my favorite aircraft is my Me-262.  But my stats on that bird SUCK.  I love flying it.  I love the challenge of getting kills with it.  It has so many flaws, and yet I keep coming back to it.

I also can't seem to stop flying my Do-335.  Another T8 heavy, so fast, so flawed, but so much fun.  My only T9 tier tree plane?  A German heavy fighter, of course.  :)

I also really enjoy my American heavies, but not as much as the Germans.  My Me-410 is still my favorite plane to fly.

Do335... flawed? My stats in it aren't my best but I think its a solid "hard carry" airplane and I only stopped playing it because of the RB17 spam during the Boost Bug exploits

Weak guns at tier.  It does OK, but it takes some work to shoot stuff down.  Vulnerable engines.

My winniest aircraft? The IL-10M of course!

It's not very good, lacking the ordinance and health for heavy GA work and the speed for GA interception/map presence, but I can make it work well.

Though I fly pretty much everything above tier 5, doing mildly well with everything; even with planes like the Bf-109 F and Su-9 which are generally hated.

I do fly Chinese aircraft a fair amount so... *ahem*

CHINA NUMBAH WAN

I even made a custom skin for my IL-10M!

I think my best winning plane is Ki-84. It's just so powerful and maneuverable.

But in Flaming Shores Bomber Escort it's IL-20 along with other ground attack planes and bombers. You just cant lose in them in Escort mode.
