From what I have read, the 109TL is a pretty mediocre pixel plane.

So my last Operation Order that I have open is to win this thing and I just do not have the patience or time to do all the missions, or, even one of them.

I have a bunch of tokens, but I am a miser.  I don't think this plane is worth it.

Can you convince me otherwise?

For many it seems to be a hit-or-miss. Personally it's been a really big hit for me, as I have been able to perform quite well on it, to the point it's been the only fighter I've flown in a while :great:

This is my IL-2 (t). There are many like it, but this one is mine. :child:

I would say no but your mileage may vary. It requires a certain playstyle - opportunistic and evasive. In a pitched battle, you'll die a lot but if you dance around the outside hunting less maneuverable or isolated airplanes it can be lethally effective.

But a truce to this mournful story

For death is a distant friend

So here's to a life of glory

And a laurel to crown each end

I love my 109 tl, however, it's not for the faint of heart...

Is it worth 215 tokens?

Good question....

I would buy it again, no doubt about it...

I only play to collect planes, so yes for me it was worth the tokens.

How many tokens do you have? What else are you going to spend them on?

It's like flying a bomber, you ain't going to win unless team/bots step up.

If your frustration level is low, the plane will give you a stroke.

It's a tier 8 premium. Tier 8 premium earn big bucks even if you fail hard. These normally cost a lot of dollars.

Make your choice.

WoWP makes a great jousting game...especially with the 262 and people busy in furballs...
I am deaf, silent, and fly with unrealistic controls. Do not count on me to carry - my back's already broken from overweight.

I've got a similar dilemma: have the Operation Order, doubt I'd be able to complete it, don't really want to spend that many tokens (actually I can't anymore, spent too many on crates/completing other Operation Orders).

Its a T8 and yes those are expensive to buy, on the other hand I'm far from short on Silver earning as is, it doesn't seem a particularly attractive plane, I'm no big fan of Nazi gear & I've already gained 3* German premiums from this Event.

So I'm mostly planning to pass on it, though part of my brain screams at me it'd be incredibly stupid to miss out on a free T8...

Other thing is I want to keep my Token count up for a presumably similar Event for UK Multiroles that I care more about obtaining.

C'est magnifique, mais ce n'est pas le SerB.

Well the first 2 parts of the Operation Order are easy, so do those and then use Tokens for the last part.

Problem solved, you saved a fek tone of tokens and you have the plane without to much time investment.

I had the same operation order, I only used Tokens for the first and last part of the order, the most expensive middle but isnt too bad since it's just grinding, and if you need a couple of days you can extend the order for like 6 tokens, not too bad at all.

As for the plane, it's basically a jet powered Fw 190 D, as other have pointed out it's a good opportunist, it's terrible on a furball, the strike capability is decent.

It absolutely prints credits. If you dont have another T8 premium I would for sure try and obtain it only for that

Well, here's the way I see it.

215 tokens = 10750 gold or so.

10750 gold is around $45 USD

The price of the 109 TL is usually $50 USD

Small bit of savings, but some savings nonetheless.

I even made a custom skin for my IL-10M!

I love to shoot them down with my Do-335.  They aren't very fast, and don't have much altitude, and the guns are OK.  You can see from the video that they have the turn radius of an ocean liner.

I will sometimes bounce them with my Me-262, if I have favorable aspect.  215 tokens?  $45?

NO.

Thanks for all the replies.  I decided to skip this one as I already have 5 Tier 8 Premiums, some of which are enjoyable to play and others are, well, difficult.

Do I need another difficult premium to make me regret having to rebuild my stash of tokens?  My personal answer is nope, not at this time.

Thanks again for the replies.  I don't think I will regret my decision to pass.

Definetively it s a great plane.  I would spend those tokens on it.

I've spent all 215 tokens on it. Chances like this don't come by very often...

Good for you though. You may find those tokens of better use elsewhere (I know, I wonder if getting the I-211 was a good idea)...

Thanks, I did read this and am too much of a clinger to my tokens to go through what this nutcase did.  No offense, but he/she must've spent a glorious amount of money/tokens/time/equipment to get to that level.  Worth it?  I guess if you wanna max out the plane.  Me, I just don't have the patience or the materials to massively upgrade to that level.

Interesting nonetheless, but something I would not do for this particular pixel plane.

[Edit]  The post did give me some good ideas with other planes however.  I am working toward maxing out another unloved plane at T9 which, while not premium, might benefit from the same careful love this player showed toward the TL.
