new folks might consider backing up their current keyboard setup config file, too

does anyone recall what the name is, and what folder it lives in?

But a truce to this mournful story

For death is a distant friend

So here's to a life of glory

And a laurel to crown each end

there are a number of tools (.bat files) to clear various settings :

  • To delete your Key Bindings, Controller Options, in-game preferences and graphical settings (all related .xml files) please use this tool:

    • wowp_controls – this file will automatically delete all preferences and .xml files, including control files

https://eu.wargaming.../article/10628/

was hoping that I could see which file was deleted for controls, but the one that clears controls, deletes all .xml files ...so you'd have to look at the contents of the xml files to see which one has bindings etc.

del /Q "%appdata%\wargaming.net\World of Warplanes\*.xml"

EDIT :

gamepad_direct_control.xml

joustick.xml

mouse_directional.xml

Wait, you're STILL here?  I admire your tenacity.  I don't know if this is in time, if you're trying to beat an update resetting your keybinds or whatever, but here's a WG link explaining it (your search foo is weak):  http://forum.worldof...tion-file-copy/

And, here's a screenshot of the location path on C drive and the name of the file (which I copy/pasted and renamed with a *.bak extension so I know it's the backup):

i cannot believe that WG made it this difficult to back up your keyboard bindings

i was thinking it was called config.xml, but windows couldn't find anything like that

edit: OMG brother... so good to see you        found it, saved it in Documents in a new folder called 'wowp keyboard config'

nope, no deadline at all... i was just trying to work with a new guy to set 'alt interface', and keying my mic while clicking on stuff screwed up my settings

all fixed now... and saved away, thanks to you
