More than a few I-220 battles I've had consisted of killing 3 GA trying to cap a Plant, climbing & killing 2 bombers, diving down & killing the returned GAs, back up to the respawned bombers etc literally never leaving that Plant cap until after Squall line or if I messed up & got killed by the tailguns.

Not sure I'd characterise bombing as requiring more skill than fighters though

If you want to do well, it does.  You not only have to fly your plane and drop the bombs right, you have to evade flak and the opposition.  With a turny fighter, and you have to do is yank around.  Mindless stuff, that.

I do very well in turny fighters.  I do OK in heavy fighters and multiroles.  A am about average in GAA.  And my bomber-fu is pretty poor.  I have much to learn.

They're different skillsets. Spits are a separate category altogether... there's a reason they're called Skillfires. Other TnBs need more work to make work. You need to be at the right place at the right time because you're too slow to follow a battle. Unless you're ok with just letting the game evolve around you, TnBs are as challenging as bombers to carry a game with.

You can farm points, of course, but if you actually want to Win, TnBs are, IMO the hardest class to do it with. Except Skillfires. Because eff Skillfires

But a truce to this mournful story

So here's to a life of glory

With the new high altitude AA I might have to revise my opinion

AA has killed me more than any fighter has.  A solid AA hit can take out 25% of your health.

As for the ot planes, just WoW gear them with bomb sights, skin, and engine boost and bomb from 2500. They are not as good as the blemie or the he 111 so just fly them for interests.

Their is a large blind spot where the gunner can't shoot, & the bots & fighter players know it.

Man, I now flew the Soviet low tier bombers a couple of times and this really sucks !!

Besides the low caliber guns, you also can't shoot at all half the time !! How are ever going to get gunner kills (for specialist) on these planes ? And what's so special about their tails ? Don't look very different from other bombers, heavies and attackers ...

Has this ever been reported as a bug ??

Has this ever been reported as a bug ??     Fighter pilots complained that they were not getting their promised easy kills,  so they nerfed the rear gunner, by installing a blind spot that fighters can hide in. :playing: As a bomber pilot, when a fighter gets on your 6 & hides in that blind spot that they creates for them,..... they just chew you up & you Just DIE. To add insult to injury, your gunner  who can't shoot back,  gets injured, & can only use Harsh language :kamikaze:  on those fighters.

I can understand the blind spot because of the vertical stabilizer.  But did they have to make it so freakin' big?  Also they recently added a nice big blind spot to the Blenny cause his turret gun was just too dang powerful,  Sarcasm here.

Oddly enough the reargun of the Blenny supposedly has more dps than the frontal gun :amazed:

yep... he sincerely hates Spits        he targets spit drivers simply because they chose a spit       it's fun to watch

he hates it even when i fly a spit, so i don't fly spits much because i hear the disdain in his voice when he sees me click on them

i do love them too, but i've tried to make a living flying other planes... and by now i've lost the quick-twitch reflexes that Spits require

So gnat spit vs fruit fly spit levels?

Anyways, I am not sure why the bottom gunner can't angle up enough to keep the six clear on any of the RU bombers.

All bombers have vertical stabilizers, some even have two or bigger ones. But no blind spot ... :amazed:
