The LBSH is my goto plane for low tier ground attack missions. My girl pilot works well in it. I enjoyed it so much I eventually specialized it.

Russians GAs are on sale this weekend. I think it is half off.

Stats-wise it looks decent outside of boost speed. I want to give it a try

This is my IL-2 (t). There are many like it, but this one is mine. :child:

i'm defo a he!!!!

i flew the wings off the Eule (german for owl, i think) and enjoyed every minute!    i had to go cold turkey when it became my statistically most-flown plane

i think the forked tail helped my tailgunner, and caused the red planes to inadvertently aim for the empty space in the middle

north of the eule were more fun GAs, some with big guns that can shoot almost a mile

pro tip - remember that the ground is magnetic, brother!

While you have come my way a lot on the P-38, I don't think I'll ever go your way on the FW-189C.  What. A. Dog.  I can't WAIT to trade up to the Duck.  BTW, the IL-2(t) with 37s is a GREAT plane.  One-pass garrisons, and have external stores to spare.  Heck, it can almost two-pass a mining plant.  Well, maybe it can 2-pass a mining plant - I just haven't done it yet.  I agree that the TSh-3 is a great place to start learning real GAA.

I had the opportunity to use my favorite GA defense tactic last night. The enemy was close behind, and I hit the air brake and waited for the pursuer to pass overhead. Then I hit the gas and poured cannon fire into it to shoot it down. Then, I had the icing on the cake. I ramped up and killed another enemy flying overhead toward me.

For those of you that advise dropping a bomb in front of the pursuer, I had no bombs in this case.

Ahh, that's about my third favorite GA defensive tactic with #2 being bomb kills and #1 being hitting flaps/brakes and pulling up sharply to dump speed so fast the enemy kills themselves by flying into your tail.

Considering the BSh-2, I'm not sure that low-tier rear gunners are very necessary. I attack these GAs almost with impunity with my fighters. The rear gunners don't deter me much at all.

Kind of depends if its a bot or a human or, if human, whether they are willing to switch to turret mode.  If you are in turret mode, your rear gunner suddenly become Sally Sure Shot and you can actually beat off enemy fighters (or at least make them pay for shooting at you) as long as you can keep them out of your blind spots.

It's not as good as being able to bring your front guns around on target but it does allow you to fight back with a reasonable opportunity of actually accomplishing something.  Now if I could only figure out how to make the plane climb or dive in that mode that would be great.

If you bind keys to "pitch up" and "pitch down" in the controls menu you can use those to climb and dive. However, already having to control which direction you're going while aiming the reargun is a handful, so I personally never use it even if I want to :amazed:

So far, playing the GA sux. The plane itself is interesting to play, but my teams do nothing while I strafe bases. They don't support me or capture other bases. All losses so far.

0% WR with GAs. I go to a base, shoot out the AA, start attacking the buildings, we lose.

This is a delightful way to lower my WR even further.

Soviet GAAs lack the power before T5, the same goes for Germans (and their low-tier premium GAAs), it will get better.

I loved my Hs129B so much in the beginning until I met my Me 265, then I know what a "working" GAA looks like.

GAAs' lack of team support in this game is exactly the reason why the term "griefer" exists. There are players who put actively hunting non-fighters as their main objective, and it's the most painful part of a GAA's life.

Some GAA features pretty decent self-defense or even limited aerial offensive capability, namely: Me 265/329, P1099B2 and 1102B, IL-10/M and perhaps IL-20, -40 and -40P.
