On the NA server we have some individuals who are known as Community Aces. They are volunteers and dont work for WG.

What is their brief ? to grow the game ? to help new players ? to spread the news of upcoming update/events ? to manage forums ? to stream games ? to organise events ?

Ive been active in this game for over a year now, and I have had no interaction with anyone who is a Community Ace - I have had allot of interaction with the EU equivalent. Which makes you wonder why bother having Community Aces in the first place. EU CC's (Community Contributors) are trying to organise events on the NA server. I assume because the NA CA's cant/wont/couldnt be bothered.

Are they hiding from the inevitable abuse that being associated with WG does bring ? Have they decided that patch 2.0.5 was the last straw and quit ? Are they still pining for 1.9 ? Have they had enough of a game that is in a big change cycle were the previous incarnation is slowly being replaced ?

This is not a personal attack on anyone - this is simply asking questions of those who have a role in trying to help the game we all love or have loved. This game isnt played in the forums.

Thanks for reading.

At the moment? Nothing...

Jokes! I kid. I think ghostprime (former Admin guy for NA) said CAs were going to be better "utilized" for something. What that something is I do not know. But that was like over 6 months ago. Not sure what happened between then and now.

One probable explanation for EU CCs/CAs coming over to NA to do these events (I'm surprised they're even doing this) is they're alot more active and the community there is larger than us. So I guess it's a way of lending a helping hand so to speak.

Events?... Oh!  Like clan type events?  Air Raids run by WG?  Smashing idea!  Forget the CA/CC's.  The user community tried for years...it's PAST time for WG to step up to the plate, no?

Couldn't agree more man. Maybe Sonic or Blindfold could elaborate on their roles in the community so everyone understands, I'd sure like to know.........

The last two events I saw promoted on discord were goofball/fooling around events.

I've been the only one to host a "competitive" event and that was almost a year ago.:sceptic:

IDK. Could get lost in translation as an idiom. They (WG CC's) need to carry the torch for their product. The players are doing their bit for WoWP.

Community Aces are definitely around and helping the Community in their various ways. There have been a couple of Events run by our Aces in the past six months and we are working on creating more.

There are also a lot of restrictions placed on the NA Community that do hamper or otherwise mitigate the contributions made. However, one of our Aces makes Skins for the Community that can be found and utilized by anyone who wishes to use Hawkeye's skins. Three of our other Aces stream on an extremely regular basis and are always willing to Flight with people and help them learn and understand the game should they need it. Two of our other Aces are also Content Creators and work on making Video Guides and Tutorials to help better understand the game.

As for their "Role," they are extensions of Wargaming and knowledgeable cornerstones of the gaming Community. We are even working on Re-introduction threads to help all of our Players better understand their specialty and expertise within said Community.

Hello there!  I can tell you my personal beliefs on a lot of these questions you have for us.

Right now, there are two categories of Community Ace you will find on these forums; Legacy and Active.

Legacy CAs are forum members who were given the CA tag in the past but are no longer active.  You can tell who those are, as the Legacy CAs posts will be found in archived threads, have Zero battles, or if they have remained active in the game but are no longer active and current NDA-signatory CAs they perform no official function to promote the game, help players, etc.  They are just Warplanes players with a green title.

Active CAs are a select few who have either remained active and helpful in promoting the game and assisting players up to the present time.  The way each of us goes about doing this is narrow to match our strengths.  I, for example, produce vids to promote the game, showcase new aircraft, and present walk-throughs of new systems like the 2.0.5 stuff so players don't have to make costly mistakes learning it themselves.  Other CAs have their own specialties.   Those specialties include but are not limited to:  Streaming, Custom and Historical skin publishing, Development of helpful game Mods, Historical References, etc.  There's a lot that we do behind the scenes to help the WG Community Team have a finger on the pulse of the community.

C'mon, man.  You know Niani and I, and you know what we do.  Do you have a grudge against someone or have you gone senile and forgotten your old clanmate?  :P
