Can we ever fix the clan ratings system?

If you have ever wondered how you can improve your Clans' Rating, WG has, on your clan page, a convenient guide called Ratings Tips.  That's the good news.  The bad news?  It's completely bogus.

Tip # 1;  Average battles per day.  The Flying Knights (FK) are second only to OWSS in average battles per day (by a slight margin).  Yet FK is at # 17 with 16 clans ranked ahead of it.  Why?

Tip# 2,  Personal Ratings.  This has been frozen in time since 2.0 came out 10 months ago!  Why?

Tip # 3.  Number of Tier X planes with at least one battle in your member's hangar.  Take an inventory with your members of the amount of Tier X planes your clan actually owns.  You will be amazed at how few of them  actually show in the clan inventory.  Why?

As a side note, not ONE bomber shows in the inventory.  NONE of the 10 bombers currently in the game are in the inventory.  Why?

Tip # 4.  Listed as THE most important tip is 'Strength and Progress'.  WTH does that even mean?  Since I came to FK 10 months ago, we have gone from less than 25 members to almost 100 today.  That ain't strength and progress?  What is?

So I guess the Catch 22 is 'Here is how to improve the rating'.  But it doesn't work.

I would be happy to have a real rating system that doesn't depend on so heavily on win/lose when most high tier battles depend so much on your stupid bots doing there jobs. And your bots have the smarts of a noob.

The Clans were an important part of WOWP until 2.0 when they essentially went unsupported.

The individual Personal Rankings were critical to the clan ranking and pilots flew regularly to avoid dropping their ratings and hurting their clan.  My clan regularly purged inactive member and recruited new/better members to move up in ranking.

It was a way to participate and be a part of something bigger than yourself and your own "win rate".

This would be a (relatively) easy improvement to the game and I'm not sure why they've left it so long.  I see only upside for restoring this functionality.

Why are we adding new game modes, nerfing, rebalancing, re-nerfing and re-rebalancing planes  when something this simple could so easily be done.

Please start by restoring the clan rankings.  How hard could it be?

I'm sure there was $'s (or gold) involved in formation of clans so it would help WG's bottom line as well.

Yeah. Ok.
If the problem was Really that simple it would have been fixed by now.

Some of the key aspects of personal ratings are dependent on out of player control events from one game to the next.
bot behavior
Server/client disconnects

Which can lead to the assumption that gaining or losing position within the clan is based on (to one degree or another) such outside factors
Possibly even clan membership as well...

You may personally be doing all the right things by scoring 3+ chevrons in every plane you are using and still wind up with a day where the bots aren't doing it for ya and come out of it with a win loss record for the day at a low 50th percentile.
even the latest  Joystick Bug making the game unplayable for the significant portion of the player base that uses Joysticks might get someone booted off of a competitive clan because they cant play the game for a 2-3 week stretch while WG finds a bug.

Another good example
You can have something like what happened during the first weekend of the Bomber Escort event this last summer.
Wherein you would have ridiculous cricket scores being run up on both sides because most of the players did not quite understand the objectives and the matches would last 2-3 times longer than they do now. Winged Legend badges were everywhere when you would have 3+ pilots on EACH SIDE of a match with over 14k personal points by the end of the match. And seeing match results with 20k+ personal points was not unheard of either.

Try making all that fit into a global statistical analysis
Spoiler

WG tried
and eventually decided to wipe the weekend and restart the event the next weekend.

Also in a world of warplanes with a  consistently shrinking player base what do you think would be the reaction from all the players that have persevered though everything else up to that point only to see all the relevant stats for e-Peen comparison frozen or reset for the new 2.0?

"fixing" clan wars; when the game itself is still perceived as broken.by the discerning player base that is clan war enthusiasts, will only result in them coming back for a week or two and decide they got better places to be.
And be less inclined to believe WG when they say "Please come back. No really, we fixed it this time"

Maybe I am misunderstanding what you are saying there, but "clan wars" can't be fixed because it was never implemented, and I don't think clan ratings equates to clan wars.
