***
But a truce to this mournful story
For death is a distant friend
So here's to a life of glory
And a laurel to crown each end

I am totally going to steal that design and build on of those.
And add a yaw axis.

A three-dimensional flight simulator would be pretty much the holy grail for my man-cave. It would be super cool to play WoWP in it, but I would prefer using it with something a little more realistic. Falcon 4, or something similar.

Would you use VR or multiple monitors?

VR would probably cost less money, but multiple monitors would be about as immersive as you could get it without it being a real simulator.
Heck, I would love to have VR capability in any flight sim, regardless of the motion simulation equipment.

I feel like someone told this guy "Git Gud" and he just stared them dead in the face and said "Fine. I think I will." Then built this just to rub salt in the wound.

DCS World 2.5 - you can usually find me on 104th server if you'd like! Callsign SideSlip over there. I fly an F/A-18C using an Oculus Rift setup + HOTAS Warthog. It leaves a lot to be desired in terms of being able to spot people on a server without tags (104th has no tags) but in terms of flying formations, aerial refueling, etc having the VR is a really nice thing.
Cheers!

Making room for a big enough motor and ring assembly to turn that while thing on a third axis .
Your man cave is now the size of a 2 car garage and its all for the flight sim.
Still cheaper than a plane.
Fair warning. My success rate at speculative guesswork is on par with my WinRate. Hit or Miss.
I start on the right track and then sometimes make a weird left turn and get lost in the weeds ...
