I think what he meant is that they want to keep a balance between being able to see the tracers and the game turning into a lightshow that would make Luke's X-wing blush. Or at least that's what I got out of it, it's worded in a weird way

This is my IL-2 (t). There are many like it, but this one is mine. :child:

Eugene is a putz.  Always has been, always will be.

That he is still around after all these years confirms my belief that this studio cannot get it right.  Before Prenz drops his positivity bomb on this thread, I still play, not as much as I used to, but seeing that this guy is still around makes me believe this studio will never learn from their mistakes.  He should be hearding sheep in the Steppes rather than responsible for any ongoing development decisions.  Maybe he would be most productive in a darkened room coding airplane skins, but having this chucklehead making game decisions is just not working and has not been working for many years.

I would rather not hear a peep from the developers rather than hearing the insane nonsense from this chumbolone.

Star Wars franchise would put this game to several levels of shame... Too bad they're too busy fighting 2 fronts of a very poorly made recent movie TLJ (I didn't like it - let down :() and the debacles of corporate greed within BF1 & BF2 with loot boxes - kinda like here! Go figure :P

Good point! Chernobyl cleanup would be a good job for this meathead.  How these losers continue to survive and thrive could be a case study for any MBA program.  I think a whole course could be constructed on "How to piss off your player base yet still retain your job".  I have seen very incompetent IT people survive disaster after disaster without consequence, but for a development studio to continue on after all these failures is beyond my understanding.  Perhaps the fallout from Chernobyl was more than what we were told?

If I wanted to play star wars, I would play Rogue Squadron on the game cube, or the original Battlefront on PC. If I wanted to fly an X-Wing, I would play X-Wing and Tiefighter for PC.

I want to play WWII Airplanes! I want to play WOWP. I do not want to play WOWP to play star wars!

And Battlefront EA is not the game to model your game off of. The fighter combat is for dummies and the camera effects are eerily similar to 2.0.:sceptic:

Just play the original Rogue Squadron instead. It's still one of my favorite games for the N64, and the reason I fell in love with the Y-wing (I even got my first bombkill on it... it was me that got caught in the blast )

Just throwing this out there... If some company were to ever develop an Ace Combat style Star Wars starfighter game... I would be all over that crap in 1/2 a parsec. Don't know about anyone else here but I'm just sayin'...

With EA behind the wheel I wouldn't keep my hopes up for good Star Wars games anytime soon :(

Its not proper start wars flight game unless it works on a 486 with 133 on turbo.

X-wing vs Tie fighter!!!

loved when they would let you have a tie advanced, hated the tau gunships (or is that 40k?).

I'm just waiting for a SW: Empire at War sequel.

Considering how they trashed C&C, I'm content to wait.

I'm too young to have played C&C.

However, I'm smart enough to understand that you DO NOT turn your mother of all RTS into a MOBILE game.

Oh gods, don't even get me started on C&C. 4 was just a blatant cash grab, nothing more. The pinnacle was (for the Tiberium saga at least) Tiberian Sun, although 3 was admittedly decent (good cast too!) and for RA it was simply the original. Well, no that's not fair. RA2 was fun in a campy, hyperbolic sort of way and the gameplay was fun and goofy (KEEROV REPORTINK) but yeah, it's just a sad shell of it's former self.

Empire at war though... oh man wouldn't that be great. BUT! If anyone is going to do that kind of game justice, it HAS TO be Relic.

Eh...from what I've heard, they messed up Dawn of War 3: Warhammer 40K.

And if it's one thing I like with my space combat, it's really good ground combat. EaW is a hidden gem for just how many good mechanics it has hidden inside of it that plenty of mods are able to make come out of it.
