Common Questions

 

1. When the next update is released?

 

All the information concerning updates and new releases are announced on our official portal.

 

2. Is there any cheat codes in the game?

 

The game is designed in such a way that all operations take place on our servers.  The client only sends commands and gets results, so there's no possibility of cheating.

 

3. When plane X is going to appear?

 

The future updates will bring in a half of the USSR and USA bomber lines (B-17 included) and Japanese heavy fighters to oppose the Flying Fortress.

 

4. Why there's no test server?

 

The practice of conducting common tests was stopped a long time ago. At the moment, we do not consider the possibility of its renewal for objective reasons: it is a time-consuming and resource-intensive procedure, which, for certain reasons, did not justify the expectations of both the players and the developers. But we do have an awesome Super Test Team, that examines the changes before the Production and provides us with great feedback.

Technical Questions

 

1. Where can I find my screenshots?

 

Screenshots are saved in (Default Path):

C:/Users/Pictures/World of Warplanes

 

You can take a screenshot by pressing the "PRT SCR" or Print Screen button on your keyboard while in the game client.

 

2. Where can I find my replays?

 

Replays are saved in (Default Path):

C:/Users/Videos/World of Warplanes

 

3. I cannot buy a plane though I have enough credits; and other problems with wrong data in the hangar.

 

Most of the errors with hangar displayed are cured with a simple procedure of clearing the cache.

 

To clear the cache:

1. Open up WGC;

2. Go to World of Warplanes;

3. Click the arrow next to the play button;

4. Click "Launch the game and clear its cached data".

 

There's no automatic cache cleaning as it will lead to the hangar downloading for the long period of time. 

 

4. The game crashes when...

 

Please, contact our Customer Service Center. We will be happy to help you. Every reported bug helps to make the game better.

 

5. No tokens for first achievements of the day/ "Hidden" missions running/2 missions with 1 Token as a reward.

 

Unfortunately, these issues do not have any solution for now. At the moment bugs concerning daily missions are classified as high-priority ones, the team is working on the problem. We are waiting for the fix in the near future.

6. I cannot exit the game - the screen is frozen, all windows appear under the hangar image.

 

This problem is being investigated at the moment. Currently there are 2 ways to fight the problem:

 

1. To prevent the bug to appear please disconnect from server, then press Alt-F4 (or use Task Manager to kill the process WorldOfWarplanes.exe)

2. If you have the hangar image stuck on the screen and all windows appearing under it - you may either log out from you windows account (just click Win and choose to log out) or restart you computer.

 

We apologize for the inconvenience caused. We hope for the bug to be fixed as soon as possible.

Game Mechanics

This bug has been successfully fixed! We expect the fix to be released in one of the nearest patches.

2. Calibration: too many negative rolls in a row.

 

The probability of 5 consecutive unsuccessful calibrations is less than 1%, the probability of 10 consecutive unsuccessful calibrations is less than 0.001%. Still, we have reports on the flaws of the system - like having a succession of negative rolls. The team plans to investigate the issue to see if there any problems with the algorithms or on the server side. So I kindly request you if you come across the situation when you've got over 10 negative rolls in a row, please, remember the time it happens and send me a message with the issue stating the problem (Calibration failure or smth like this will be enough) and the time of the incident. We would greatly appreciate it as your feedback will help us to collect the data needed.

 

3. New equipment and upgrade system - how and why?

 

From the point of view of the Game Designers the system is basically identical to the previous one and performs the same tasks, but it gives more opportunities for the player in the specialization of his aircraft.

 

The system of slots typification (when the equipment for the engine can be put only in the slot type of the engine) against the old system, when any equipment can be put in any slot  - if you conditionally think about returning the old system, then in a situation where we have 4-5 slots for equipment on airplanes, we will have to introduce additional restrictions so that there won't appear the unbalanced-strong builds of planes. Please pay attention to the fact that such restrictions existed before, when certain types of equipment could not be equipped on some types of aircraft. The new system, among other things, allows us to add more different types of equipment. This is a great potential and a reserve for future builds. In addition, the new system, unlike the old one, is expandable, and allows us to make new configurations for existing aircraft that will have different slot configurations for equipment, thus giving us the opportunity to bring new planes with unique characteristics into the game. 

 

As for the restrictions for consumables is concerned, Emergency Medical Kit and Fire Extinguisher both were equipped by the 80% of players in every single battle, that in fact meant that:

 

  • the players had no choice what kind of consumables to take - it was necessary to equip only those;
  • the use of different ammunition was meaningless, as the effects of the ammunition was offset by the fact that everyone had the two constant consumables that treated crits and fires. 

 

In the new system, in fact, the player needs to think about what to choose, and there is a choice. Moreover, the ammunition now is not meaningless and it is possible to use your advantages in combat and think more how to behave according to the consumables you equipped.

 

Therefore, we do not consider the new system to be a nerf, but rather an extension and an opportunity for development. 

 

4. Why the materials drop and Specialist missions depend on winning?

 

The concepts based on the analysis of players' feedback, which are being reviewed and processed at the moment, are as follows:

 

  • Removing the dependence on victory in Specialist missions. It should make the obtaining of Specialist configuration easier and more affordable;
  • Reducing the cost of skipping Specialist configuration missions for tokens if there is actual progress on this mission (the more progress - the lower the cost in the tokens);
  • Gaining materials in non-victorious battles by players who show outstanding results in such a battle (for example, gain 10,000 combat points or the like), i. e. not just giving out materials for a lost battle but rewarding the players who played for the victory, but for some reason (whether it is an unsuccessful coordination of the team, or a small number of real players in the team), the battle was lost. 

 

These ideas are adopted and processed, though at the moment we are not ready to say when exactly these changes will appear in the game.

The tracers sounds have been rolled back. The changes are planned to be applied in the update 2.0.6.
