Hello pilots!

The update 2.0 introduced a system of type efficiency: performing actions corresponding to the type of your aircraft during the battle now enhances total type rank.

It consists of 3 missions and each mission has 5 levels, which reflect your success and the fulfillment of an aircraft type role in a combat. This has a positive effect on experience and credits on the outcome of the battle. The missions for each aircraft type are as follows:

Total type rank

The total type rank is calculated by the sum of the ranks received by the player for fulfilling all three type tasks of his current aircraft type.

When playing on several types of aircraft (during one match), a separate type rank is calculated for each of the types.

Is the materials gain (airframe, mech. part, etc.) measured by this rank or is it measured by raw experience points?

Neither. If I understand your question correctly. 

Materials' drop does not depend on experience it depends on air and/or ground targets eliminated. For example, Airframe Elements drop from Bombers more often than from fighters and their's a higher drop chance of mech. parts from Heavy Fighter than from Fighter and so on.

Nice to know. Is there a chart to show us the drop rates and sources of material drops?

I'm afraid, I can't provide you with drop rates information. Regarding sources - all types of air and ground targets.

Well, I believe drop rate to be quite useless information to be honest. You see, for example, you have a 40% chance to get airframe from a bomber (I underline - just an example irrelevant to reality ) but it doesn't mean that if you eliminate 3 bombers you will surely get a piece of material or whatever. It only means that every time you eliminate the target you have 40% chance to get some stuff. That's all. 

So-o calculating's just a waste of time having no particular influence on gameplay (:

But wait the drops of any salvage will be dependent on any win of course...so no matter what the opposition top player gets can be high I have seen 19K player get zippo maybe Blindfold make a recommendation to change this plus everything else everyone has mentioned on the forum.

Drops for materials shouldn't be restricted to only victorious battles for various reasons stated above. This part of the 2.0.5 update should have been given more consideration and pre-testing before release. Amongst other issues with this whole new system. Also thx for sharing that little tid bit of info that certain plane type categories "might" earn more materials than others. This WOULD have been helpful info during the release of this update. Again amongst other helpful info that should have been shared.

Yeah, you are totally right - you get something only if you win, so racing for materials at the expense of winning (capturing points or whatever) is not really a good idea. 

Still not sure about the continuation of your comment. You mean that drop must be dependent on personal points or? Could you please specify?

Yeah, I've got you point. For now we're researching and gathering feedback on this particular part of gameplay as well, so there's a chance that some changes may be applied to the drop system or restrictions. So the more reasoned and sensible feedback we get, the better.

Actually, the thing is that there's a chance to earn more materials from certain type of aircraft not with the help of. Or you mean there are certain types which are more suitable for farm? (:

Understanding that info (assuming it isn't tinfoil hat theory) means plane categories in the game (Light fighter, MRF, GA, HF, Bombers) have influential factors in gaining certain materials more than others. Anyway to confirm this blindfold? If this is true then I definitely need to consider running other aircrafts than just LFs. Also sorry for taking this out of the main topic of plane specific missions. Materials in 2.0.5 has been quite a heated discussion around here since it launched with very little info in how the drops work.

If you do mean that it may be slightly easier to eliminate HF or Bomber with a certain type of aircraft - well, probably you've got the point. Though, I believe, it is a matter of personal preferences anyways.

Not excluded  I mean that elements drop from eliminated targets (either air or ground).

His point is, that gaining these resources should not be entirely dependent upon a win, since a player's effect on the battle's ultimate outcome is so little now, and that lack of influence is by design now.

 

If you want people playing the game a lot, they should see progression on what they are doing, whether they win or lose.  You don't give players NO xp when the lose.  You don't give players NO credits when they lose.  Why should specialist progression and equipment gain be any different?

The entire reward system for the players is needlessly arcane and the bots mostly render the efforts of the few humans playing null.  I've seen caps flip 100% blue to 100% red in a microsecond when there was no-one else around.  The bots use black magic, I guess.  I'm beyond caring.

Given that, I just fly and rocket/bomb/shoot.  If something falls out of a tree, fine.  If not, meh, I'm not expecting anything anyway.

A lot of the negativity around this game could be reduced if the devs actually changed something, ANYTHING, for the better.  All I've seen since 2.0.5 slithered into the room is talk, talk and more talk but no game changes worth a plugged ruble...I think most of the company is at a rented dascha, water skiing.  The only people doing any work are SonicPariah and blindfold and they have my sympathy.

 

What mystifies me...what is totally beyond me...is how a group of adults could cooperate on a project and screw it up so desperately totally that their customers cut them cold and walk away.  WG's actions are completely counter-intuitive.

Me?  I just hang around to watch the drama while waiting for WG to drop another clanger. 

 

At this point, the forum is more entertaining than the game so I spend more time here than I do playing.  If that doesn't tell the WG honchos something, then the whole business is a lost cause.  I'm starting to think that is the plan anyway, drain it and then close it down.  Cynical?  Maybe, but not without cause, I would venture.

I had enough invested in this "game" until 2.0.5 raised its ugly head that I want to be here when the whole rotten mess finally implodes.  At least the moral theft of my money and effort entitles me to that.

I see. Well, I totally agree on this point. Dependence on wining plays kind of a cruel joke. Probably, I can please you a little bit with saying that the developers think the same, that is why the system of gaining materials is being developed at the moment. It is likely that some types of materials won't be dependent upon a win.
