Previous Wargaming.net Game Center update bring in a nice procedure for people having 2 or more WG accounts.

After having click on PLAY you have no more to type each time your password when you switch from one area to an other one.

The "Remember me" asset seems to work and it was great, but v.18.4.0.1 was released ...

v.18.4.0.1

  • We have updated the Wargaming.net Game Center and now all regions can use a simplified login procedure. Logging into the Game Center automatically signs you into all our games that use a Wargaming.net account: just click “Play”!

... now we are back to previous situation, with an extra calibration randomization effect, if you remember on what server you play last, you go play to play the same one, if you want to play an other one, you must disconnect to server and try to connect to the other one.

Here come the randomization effect, some times it will work, sometimes you need again to type your password even if the "Remember me" box has been ticked.

I'm glad I uninstalled now, and don't have to worry about this mess.

In fact there is a way around ... once you have logged on a server, do not use Game Center in order to switch to an other one.

WoWP_launcher2.jpg

So, when asked if you want to change the account to play on the other server, you must say "NO" and go back to the hangar of the server you where previously playing on, then choose "disconnect from server" option then log on the other one without the need to type identification and pwd once more.

If you try the obvious option and click on yes, not only you will have to provide identification and pwd for the new server ...

... but if you try to go back without changing account, you will need also to provide identification and pwd for the server you just left   :sceptic:

I must add that I had deleted and reload the Game Center twice.

So after having done the last update and killed all previous traces of previous version on my rig, the extra calibration randomization effect has disappeared.

I believe that's a good hint about what must be done with calibration in the game.

With last update, it's in fact more simple ...

Europeans servers having been updated earlier, I had log 1st on WoWP_EU server and now to play on WoWP_NA server , I must click on Play with WoWP_EU tab, then I am sent to the log screen and can log on the WoWP_NA  without the need to type identification and pwd.

Its rather simple even if it's a bit baffling.

The weird effect is showing if I want to play then to switch back to WoWP_EU server because, even if I had logged 1st on WoWP_EU server, with "remember me" box ticked, I must again type my password.

If you ask me why I haven't sent a ticket this time ... I don't want to be asked to rebuild my rig each time I notify WoWP about a bug.

Hi! If I understand your issue correctly, well, then:

The thing is that when you switch from one realm to another WGC recognizes that as 2 different accounts, and the authentication policy requires you to log in and log out every time.

And that is totally OK at the moment. However, we are currently working on the service to make it more comfortable for players with two or more accounts and players from different realms.

Still, it won't hurt to send a ticket if I misunderstood you problem. It is quite easy to make a report now.

Waiting for your respond! (:

I think you don't understand clearly the issue.

The main problem is the use of the "Game Center" to switch from one realm to another.
Previously, I had 2 shortcuts on the desktop, one for the NA servers, the other for the EU servers, it was simple and effective.

Each shortcut giving access to a realm with a registered username and password really saved.
At the moment, the use of the tabs of the "Game Center" no longer allows user-friendly access for the player.

I am sorry to say that Support will NOT accept a simple issue report.

The "agent" will ask me one more time to :

1° delete  the Appdata  World of Warplanes folder,

2° do a DNS flush,
3° reboot my DSL2 router,
4° reset my Firewall options,
5° update Explorer 9*,
6° do a Nvidia driver clean install,
7° rebuild NET Framework 4.0 and all the Visual C++ 2008 paraphernalia*.

*Even if I had sent a rather intrusive WGCheck report telling I am using Firefox and Windows10 64bits.

I contacted the specialist and the answer is as follows:

 - At the moment WGC recognizes different realms as different accounts, that's why password is not saved.

I agree, that it is not convenient but for now - it is not a bug. Still - the team is currently working on this issue, creating much more user-friendly access.

The "Specialist" gave you the exact same canned response you gave the OP yesterday?

Maybe it's just because I addressed the specialist yesterday and waited for the OP's respond if I understood him correctly and then approved the information once more? No? Not a chance? (:

Let's remember the announcement :

  • We have updated the Wargaming.net Game Center and now all regions can use a simplified login procedure. Logging into the Game Center automatically signs you into all our games that use a Wargaming.net account: just click “Play”!

Let's have a look at what is released :

  • the login is far more complex than it was before "Game Center" usage,
  • logging into the game need a minimum of 5 clicks and sometimes to type again a password already saved
  • the login procedure do not allow player switching between regions to get a simple access to the game,
  • logging into the Game Center do not automatically signs you in the game,

From my pro point of view, It looks really like a bug, an error, flaw, failure or fault in the program that causes it to produce an incorrect or unexpected result, or to behave in unintended ways.

A bug is when something works wrong. Logging in works as it is designed to. I agree that the access for players with 2 or more accounts (remembering that different realms are recognized as different accounts) is inconvenient and complex. However it is to be changed. Thank you for your feedback and have a nice flight!

As the issue is resolved the topic is closed to prevent off-topic if you don't mind. When details about changes in login system are known, I will inform you.

It gets even more complicated when you are not only playing on EU and NA, but have 2 different accounts on EU ... it remembers nothing, I keep entering accounts and passwords.
Flying on EU and NA server

I am having the same problem with 2 NA and 1 EU accounts.

I had found an easy solution for the 1st problem, I am playing my 2 NA accounts on 2 rigs ...

Even if I can use a third one in order 2 play my EU account, I had to choose the difficult way.

So, on Monday morning, after I had done the Wargaming weekly routine, restart my DSL box, delete the wargaming data file, done a DNS flush and rebind the key board I had logged on NA servers type account and password and I go straight to NA hangar as intended.

But at 11.00 CEST, NA servers shut off for maintenance, so I switch to EU servers.

Without quitting the game, I log on EU servers, as it's the 1st time after deleting the data, I must type account and password, and I am getting access to EU hangar, so all seems OK.

But ... one of my son came in , and I suggest to play a flight with him on NA server, so I leave EU server and try to log on NA server.

Then, even if the "remember box " is ticked I will have to type my password [in fact I just copy/past the string] and get access to NA server.

So I must remember last server played, NA in this case

On Tuesday morning, I want to test something on EU server, so to get access to this server without typing PWD, I must get access to NA server and after hangar is updated [taking some time ...], I must disconnect from NA server and get access to EU server without typing anything ... the perfect way knows no difficulties.

Edit (a bit later) : from what I have experienced there are 2 different problems:

- One is about switching from a server to an other in Game Center as described and it looks like an account management issue.

- The other is about password management on the same server in Game Center.

If I choose the option to disconnect from the server and then try to reconnect to this server I just played, my password is erased if I click "Connect"
To avoid this I have to select the stars string then position the cursor just behind before clicking "Connect".
