So, I have my specialist planes. I tend not to fly them and work on the next one. What do you do?

Fight like you are the third monkey on the ramp to Noah's Ark and brother, it's starting to rain.

I'll add the caveat that it depends on whether I like the plane or not. I'll never Specialize the I-210 but the I-220... that I'll Specialize.

I've also Specialized both Freya and Dora and am now working on Specializing the A-1.

I fly specialist for the simple fact that I am still upgrading that crew to max, then I'll move on..

I can’t promise that if you choose to fight, that there will ever be a victory…or a day that we can step down and say our work is finished. Our lives are the sum total of thousand of choices. And the burden of that freedom is sometimes too much to bear. But you won’t have to do it alone anymore. We will find a better way..

Together.

Lately I have been moving on as soon as a plane gets Specialist.

My first Specialists I played 20-30 games in, now 1 or 2 and I move on.

I'm looking to get a full JPN fighter set.

I've got most of the JPN mid-tier good turners done, gonna have to adjust to the others as I go.

USSR is next I think.

It depends on what you are path you want to follow. The lines of getting everything to the middle level is certainly the right path to go, but then you have to make the decision on where you want to go from there. The nice thing bout this game is that the higher tiers are not that much more in experience or as costly in credits as the other ones. However the things that these games do share is that it takes a hell of a lot of XP to advance up the training level. The key, at least IMHO, is to figure of where you really want to go and then take it from there. Whether it is nation, class, or type. Coffin has an good handle on what he wants to do, but while the specialist may the way for him, the question is how he equips the plane when it gets to that level and the employment of it in the game.

I was working on getting a number of my American tier 5's specialized. Not that I've done that, I think I'll sit in and have flying them more.

Had a lot of fun getting my P-38F up to specialist, and I'm expecting it to really rock.

Just specialized my BF-109F.  I have the G unlocked.  But I'm still plan on grinding the F to unlock the 109Z so Specialist will help in that regard.  Only other planes I have specialized are planes I enjoy flying.  BF-109B that has a permantent spot in my hanger and the FW.56 which is just a fun low tier turn and burner.

For me only way I'd specialize:

1) Did I have fun with it enough to keep it?

2) Do I have a long way of grinding ahead of me?  Some of these planes have more then one plane unlocked from them so that can take me awhile.

I have found that specialist aircraft are really no big deal to shoot down.  If you get position on them, and can play to the strengths of your own aircraft, they are cold meat.

Specialist planes aren't an "I Win" button for weaker players but at the top of the heap those small %s add up. I means those ahead get more ahead in a fight and those already weak will stay there.

And the grade of their equipment does make a difference as well - a fully specialized airplane with just stock or improved equipment isn't much different from an unspecialized airplane. Once the plane hits Ultimate, though, those cumulative small %s add up.

bombers really benefit from the advanced bombsights, but i'm using Speccing as an 'excuse' to re-fly my favorite mid-tiers over and over again

next in line, my much-loved p-38f!

I remember when you didn't want to do it.  The Lightning grows on you, doesn't it?
