Anybody besides me with this problem?  It has been a problem for me for a couple of months now.  The one time I contacted 'support' (loose term, that) I got a reply so jaw dropping ludicrous I never tried again.

as you may have noticed...

I don't really bi#ch about specific problems...

I've got you guys to do that... about ten of you.

now you guys are a very diligent force... I may add... and I appreciate that,

but there are at least 500 people suffering from the same or different/worse problems

I'd like you to consider what the Forum Game would be like...

if you piped in every time you had a problem, all 500+ of you

hmmm?

.

it would be nothing but bi#ching extravaganza

.

I'm going to propose an alternate route

... just let it ball up in your gut like the rest of us

hate the game yet still play it occasionally

play the Forum Games for your anxiety relief...

or have a whiskey... or a beer

.

I understand there are many here in the Forum Games that don't understand this concept

but if you'd had played 30k games with WG and their developers

or had been in contact with WG and their athletic supporter team...

you'd understand, you'd have empathy, you'd stop caring

.

and that's ok... no harm done

save your energy for the forum games...

what do you all say,

I think I'll get us together in a picture game on Friday...

give me some feedback and ideas.

thanks

It's not about that game. The game could be different, could be much more acceptable, and the same people would still be here. The game, War Gaming, other players in game and in these forums, all nice little outlets to focus on. The issues though, they come with the people that post and reply. It's funny, people post what seems to be realizations, and then they repeat, and repeat and get emotional. A realization is something that changes a perception, an attitude or an outlook. An epiphany that changes behavior and thought.

It is like climbing a few steps on a ladder and thinking, "when I jump off, I will be able to fly". And you jump off and land back firmly on the ground. Back up a few steps on the ladder again, and you think, "when I jump off, I will be able to fly", and again you land firmly back on the ground. How many times does it take to repeat the same process before a realization kicks in?

But... But I have a right to complain. You sure do. You have the right to get back on that ladder and jump off as many times as you like. These forums are the Bermuda Triangle for all the wishful thinkers and keepers of broken dreams.

I'm only trying to free people from themselves.

I half thought you were a notch above the ones who post something, just to post, or to feebly make attempts to bother me in some way. I'm trying to respect you, I'm trying to give you the benefit of any doubts. I'm hoping your more than just an upstart "psychological thumb wrestler". Are you anything beyond a chronic complainer about this game, and someone who plays with numbers to make themselves seem enlightened?

Sure I know quite a bit about socializing. Take care though, because socializing is also synonymous with acceptance and conformity. I actually have a fan following in these forums, a group of people who always seem to post when I do. I'm like the catalyst and they apparently cannot help themselves. Poor emotional impulse control. Conditioning by any other name.

Always good to hear from you. Maybe if you play your cards right, I'll have some forgiveness for you as well... I've been trying to be more uplifting lately.

Wha? I must be getting lazy.
The point is, I find your intellectual interjections into nonintellectual conversations annoying.

Perhaps you misunderstand why we complain about the game so much.

We are flight enthusiasts. Not all to the same extent, but I bet there isn't one of us playing the game that wouldn't run out of our house to gaze up into the sky at the sound of a military jet engine.

Well, I'd be confident about my assertion a couple of months ago.

We came to the game to get our flying fix. Not all of us are pilots irl, or posses the time, knowledge, or patience to invest in complicated simulators. But we dream that we were real pilots. And WOWP fulfilled that dream.

And the devs constant effort to make the game not about flying is stealing the dream away from us.
Isn't that a dream worth fighting for?

I did just this when I was a kid.  My brother came along and said, "maybe you aren't trying hard enough".  So I tried really hard, didn't work.

Then my other brother came by and said "maybe you aren't high enough" so I got to the top of the ladder and that didn't work either.

So them the first brother came back and said "maybe you need a running start" so I started running and jumping off a retaining wall in a neighbors yard.

My other brother saw me and said "I still don't think you are high enough" so I got on our roof and ran off.  Spent a week in the hospital and in a cast for 3 months.

Brothers suck.

I was the oldest brother, so the other two would try to get me in trouble or play a prank on me. I kicked the crap out of them, one of them went to the ER, I was grounded. Good times, good times......

See we are getting to know each other better! So I spice up some really lackluster threads and get a few people's blood moving, so what!

Perhaps you misunderstand why we complain about the game so much.

No I don't. I play the same game. Suffer the same issues and see the same problems as everyone else. I just have a different perspective than most. Everyone has something critical to say and people really like piling on. The one thing everyone seems to avoid talking about is attitude.

We are flight enthusiasts. Not all to the same extent, but I bet there isn't one of us playing the game that wouldn't run out of our house to gaze up into the sky at the sound of a military jet engine.

Keep going... your on a roll....

Well, I'd be confident about my assertion a couple of months ago.

We came to the game to get our flying fix. Not all of us are pilots irl, or posses the time, knowledge, or patience to invest in complicated simulators. But we dream that we were real pilots. And WOWP fulfilled that dream.

Isn't that a dream worth fighting for?

I have to admit, that almost bring a tear to my eye. I am sentimental. "Isn't that a dream worth fighting for?" Well, yes and no. In the abstract, yes... dreams are always worth fighting for, as a matter of fact the vast majority of mind function is spent on fantasy, imagination, prediction and day dreaming. The saving grace for existence, your minds ability to ponder. All day long we sit and convince ourselves of all kinds of things, constantly running probabilities (which are generally accurate but usually never very specifically accurate), and we use our imagination to re-write realities (in our minds).

That said, just because you can imagine something, fantasize or dream about it, does not mean it will come true. At some point we have to reconcile our imaginative thoughts with the stark reality of existence. For example, I can fantasize that I can fly like a bird can, but if I jump off the roof of a six story building, well... I did not respect the stark reality or, mediate my fantasy from reality very well.

(busy at my job so I'm not articulating the best)

If you think the posts in these forums are going to accomplish what you wish, I'd like to know how exactly that is going to happen? Every time this  game changes it seems to alter someone's dream, fantasy or mental projection on just how this game is supposed to be. The ones who cannot adjust or adapt quit or suspend their play. The ones who can adapt and adjust keep playing. There are people who like the changes and are having fun, and I know that is hard for some to believe, but it is true.

There is a lot to talk about, but it seems you just want to fight some silly battle of wits and ego with someone you think you need to compete with, and it is not necessary.
