Dear SonicPariah,

I have a couple of questions I'm hoping you can help answer.   Full disclosure, I despise 2.0.5, and have already uninstalled.  I'm waiting around to see if there is going to be a response by WarGaming (I liked the game and would love to have it back to some level of 'fun-playability' (as opposed to the current 'punish the player playability' we have now), so I can play again, if not...  I would also like to know if I don't have to look back).

1)  Seeing that the majority of players look unfavorably on all or significant portions of 2.0.5, have the developers realized the direction the game is going is not a direction that's conducive to gaining and keeping players?

2)  Do you think the developers will ever have a 'come to jesus moment' and communicate actual plans for the game to the players?

3)  Do you believe the developers will actually address most of the player issues mentioned (stuff like 'specialization' is tough, I realize,... they apparently made that the cornerstone of their strategic planning and integrated it into everything....)?

thanks!

the more I play it the more I realize how damn much effort went into 2.0.5.5.?...

it's like, WOW... that little idea of plane customization just went freaking hAyWiRe!!!

kind of like when 20 year olds all sit around on a friday night get wasted and bouncing ideas around

in the moment they believe they've came up with the most inventive thoughts in all of mankind's existence

i.e.: "dude, what if they came up with refillable butane lighter ATTACHED to this pipe... whoa, GENIUS!"

.

kind of funny in a Rube Goldberg kind of way when you think of it

if the pilot's good, see, I mean, if he's really..sharp, he can barrel that baby in so low [he spreads his arms like wings and laughs],

you oughtta see it sometime, it's a sight. A big plane like a '52. VRROOM! There's jet exhaust, fryin' chickens in the barnyard.

Basic management principles dictate you must sell "change" to people. Otherwise, people will resist that change.

Warships & tanks do a decent job of selling their changes to the players long before they go live. Many players may not like the change, but they have fair warning and the reasons why things were changed.

Also usually things don't get straight worse across the board, and compensation is almost always offered (e.g., T34 change, Chaffee split, USSR DD line rework, etc.)

Well I will disagree with you I don't want to regrind the tech tree again! I also paid with real currency the premium planes so why again must I re-grind while they re-sell premium planes with all slots open? I don't give a damn about free stuff but playing for hours over for the same thing it is a wthmoment in game play - time to look at a new game elsewhere! Idiot developers and owner.

For many of us, currently World of Botplanes is an exercise of frustration, especially when playing GAs or Bombers. Wins have been more rare since the last patch due to being matched up against Unicum flights of RB-17s farming wins for Materials or having a team full of windowlicking bots; there’s usually only 1 or 2 humans on a team when I play.

And all I’m trying to do is get my nerfed planes back to the same performance they had before the patch.

Quite, frankly, I’m shocked that such a major change was made to the game with no input from the players. WG could learn a lot about working with players from Eve Online.

1. Devs are reviewing the feedback and thoughts provided by all players to work on improving the game. Right now, there is no plan published for changes or even a discussion in progress. However, they are definitely aware of all the thoughts provided.

2. We are working with the Devs to make sure that Patch Notes, Tests, and other methods of communication are more forthcoming for future Updates.

3. While everything will definitely be addressed, not all of it will result in a change. This is one a of the sad facts and sometimes frustrating realities of Game Development that cannot be changed. (Along the lines of "can't make everyone happy" ideas.)

^ , Im not shocked at all...... Some players are like , keep going back to their EX, and get abused, and give her $$$...then you come to your senses and leave for good, never looking back.

I loved 2.0, came back and brought several friends...... , believe me I apologized to all of them for the mess I got them in.

I started playing again at 2.0, so, in theory, I was 'prime player pick-up material' when 2.0 rolled out.   When I started playing, it was really fun; I even made a post on the WoT forum saying how great 2.0 was (and how much free XP one could mine!).   However, since 2.0, every patch has been rolled out in such a way as to antagonize it's players... in less than a year, I went from WG cheerleader to pissed off and fatalistic about World of Warplanes, and by extent, WG as an entity.    The peeps churning out the antagonistic code crap have bosses... and apparently, they don't care either.

I hope no one ever sees my old WoT forum post.  It's embarassing now to recommend this game.  (I've been very actively doing the opposite, as a matter of fact)

It's not about wanting 'free stuff' as you put it.  It's about having planes you already worked for in grinding taken away from you and told grind it again, or pay us money.  Or planes you paid REAL money for nerfed and told to grind or pay us more money.

I can handle the changes to the tech tree planes it only took about 10 battles to specialize my mig-3 so im not sure what people are talking bout hours and hours per plane., its the Premium planes that I paid real cash for that should all have automatically got specialist status upon release of this patch at a minimum. The fact that they are selling fully unlocked planes that I previously bought really bugs the crud out of me. Also the boat load of bugs should have been addressed before this patch.

Also I was excited about this from the Developers Blog

"Q: What additions to the Japanese line can we expect to come in the following years?

A: The near future will bring a mini-branch of Japanese heavy fighters that will specialize in bomber interception."

How long is "near future" this was posted in March 2018...

Then they should have made every plane in our hangar Specialized that had more than 10 battles.

Also note that's a "mini branch".  What does that mean?

It means they'll be about as relevant in high tier games as German bombers are now.

this is life cycle of this game:

get new players--> new players likes gets into game--> patch comes out--> not so new player unsure if happy--> another patch comes--> regular player scratches head "who asked for that?" --> X.5 version of patch comes out--> veteran player becomes jaded veteran player--> becomes expert at forum game--> tells new player to stop with coolaid--> rinse repeat (for years).

Not sure what you mean.  You do not have to grind to specialist,  it's merely an option.   The premiums same dal just an opportunity to get other equipment

Making them perform better than non specialist aircraft makes it not an option if you're a competitive minded player.

If you're not a competitive minded player, why are you playing games from a company that produces nothing but PVP games?

(Okay, you got me on that one.  Warplanes stopped being a competitive PVP game with 2.0 but the fact remains that specialist aircraft have a mechanical advantage over non specialist due to the insane idea of giving them more consumables, more equipment, etc)
