Do you think the game has improved over the last year, or not.  Please honest opinions and no trolls with bloviating bombastic blather attacking anyone who doesn't share their opinion.

I viewed 2.0 as an overall improvement, along with the events that it brought with Invasion/Attrition mode.

2.0.5 was an overwhelming disappointment, marks just as significant a change in direction as 2.0 did, and most certainly was not a good change.

I'm kinda liking the gameplay more but the bugs that just won't die and the ever increasing new bugs sort of take the shine off it.

I have enjoyed the bomber aspect of the game, and a more direct and consequential role of GAA, but do not like this particular patch, and overall, think that it takes a lot of shine off the 2.x direction.

I've enjoyed the bombers as well (sans effects of current 2.0.5 patch basically castrating them in both the role of high alt saturation and low alt raiding) and the GAA play of 2.0.  It's too bad that the 2.0.5 patch rework on optional equipment really hamstrung them.  Now in order for my German GAA to be survivable against basic AA I need equipment that hampers their greatest strength: Speed and Maneuvering.  Oh, and I also can't enhance their powerful gunners.  For reasons.

The game got it right before this last patch.  Jump in and fly.  Only a few decisions to make to kit out the plane. Was it perfect, no.  Did it have bugs, ooh yes at times it was like watching Starship Troopers.  Now, I have a flightline of nerfed premium planes that need to be restored (still mad about this, but oh well). I am not a tinker and piddler.  Now, I have to tinker and piddle with enhancements and calibrations.  This takes up flying time.  I work hard and after the kids go to bed, I have about an hour or so  of "me" time each night.  If I wanted to tinker, craft, and piddle, I would make potions, armor, and weapons in Skyrim.  For me, the instant action which was for me, a key reason I enjoyed flying, was removed.  Time will tell, my hangar grows dusty.

Pretty much sums up my feelings on this latest patch as well.  When the new video came out and I saw Eugene Potluck I just knew it was not going to be a good thing.

So overall has the game gotten better in the past year?  It did, but this latest release kinda blew any goodwill they had built up with me.

Nah. They should have spent the better part of those 6 months creating more game play content towards modes, clans, maybe a campaign co-op, and stuff that promotes more team aspects with players not bots. In the long term this would save the game. But it seems this company is too stubborn with short term results that all they care about is continuing to milk a title that was already considered dead before 2.0. They had their chance with 2.0.5. Question now is what can they do to the rest of 2018 to make up for it.

My impression is that the studio has the attitude of "the players just don't understand how great this new thing is".  I just get the feeling that they think it's our fault for not recognizing how cool all this new crap stuff is.  As I've said before, the customer service aspect in Ukraine is much different than in much of the rest of the world.  I think they did some good things with 2.0 but then turned around and almost literally shat on their own creation with this latest release.  There was so much they could have done yet chose not to.  I don't know if this is building up to something wonderful or a future s*** sandwich but if there is something wonderful on the horizon, they, as is typical, aren't saying.

TLDR:  The fault is in the customers, not in the developers.  They are brilliant and we are just stupid and lazy.

Anyway, lately I play a few games and fall asleep in my chair.  Not kidding.  I still like the game in general, but the grind is just not motivating me atm.

it's the old saw...  which came first, the chicken or the egg?

WG needed to show some progress in recouping their investment... and there's only two ways to do that for most businesses, really

1. attract more customers

2. charge existing customers more for the same items

Amazon is doing very well by attracting more customers and by charging less, so...         but not exactly the same kind of business, i realize that

i'm just hoping that WG isn't choosing the easiest path, because...

They snatched defeat out of the jaws of victory with this patch! Not participating!

maybe they could just roll back to v1.4

and the developers could return the money they wasted the last 3 years

seems fair

if the pilot's good, see, I mean, if he's really..sharp, he can barrel that baby in so low [he spreads his arms like wings and laughs],

you oughtta see it sometime, it's a sight. A big plane like a '52. VRROOM! There's jet exhaust, fryin' chickens in the barnyard.

2.0 was an improvement, 2.0.5 is a PITA that didn't do anything to improve the gameplay.  Instead of being able to progress in making improvements to your aircraft, win or lose, we have a winner take all mentality.  Improving your plane to a "Specialist" setup is a grind, and not a fun one.  I am really getting pissed at having to play for hours just to earn a handful of components just to throw them away in failed calibration attempts.  I've been around since almost the start of WOWP and I've never walked away.  I'm considering it now.

I haven't been around a year but I still approve of the BASIC idea of 2.0.5. Its just that there's so much left undone with it, so many imbalances and poorly thought out and implemented features that I can't call it an improvement.

This is the way I feel, although I don't have as much time invested. Just not excited to play due to the grind so my hanger will gather dust and my wallet will stay closed.  I will use my prenimun time in WOWS.
